Shingles

My sister-in-law is living through a painful case of shingles. Though she is currently in Southern California, her current SLR and Demi-SLR occurred while she was at her home in Georgia.

She'll be fine in another week or so, but at the moment she's anything but fine. The outbreaks are especially on her face (she had to take extra precautions for her eyes including seeing an ophthalmologist to make sure the infection hadn't spread into her corneas and optic nerves). In addition to debilitating loss of energy, the main characteristics are great pain and temporary disfigurement of her face.

This unfortunate affliction shows in the simplest, most elegant way in her returns: Her birth chart has a Venus-Mars-Neptune T-square. (Disfigurement conditions, and skin afflictions in general, are usually Venus afflictions.) Saturn has been crossing through this T-square, then the lunar returns brought it all to the angles.

Here is her SLR from the first week of March:

9°04' Tau - SLR MC
11°43' Leo - SLR Asc
11°56' Sco - r Neptune (IC -3°14')
13°12' Aqu - r Mars (Dsc -1°00')
13°44' Tau - r Venus (Z -2°01')
15°12' Aqu - t Saturn (Dsc -3°05')

Saturn squares all of her natal Venus-Mars-Neptune T-square, the closest aspect being transiting Saturn square natal Neptune 0°09' mundo.

Here is her mid-March Demi-SLR, which had less of her T-square angular yet replaced the natal planets with matching transiting planets:

29°50' Cap - t Mars (Asc +3°39')
7°52' Aqu - DSLR Asc
10°33' Aqu - t Venus (Asc -2°31')
13°12' Aqu - r Mars (EP-a +1°36')
15°44' Aqu - DSLR EP-a
16°42' Aqu - t Saturn (EP-a -1°33')

Notice the midpoint of t Saturn and r Mars is within 0°02' of the angle. - The aspects are mostly the same planet mix as the SLR, but moving around which planets are transiting vs. natal (all mundane for closest orbs):

t Saturn co r Mars 1°36' M
t Venus co r Mars 2°08' M
t Venus-Saturn co 3°43 M

The outbreak occurred in Georgia after both charts had setup but was very mild until she got to California last Sunday. I can't see that this shows in her returns relocated to California which are primarily double-Jupiter! (It might mean seeing doctors and being caretaken, but not the course of the disease. That's one of the explicit things cited by Bradley as early as Solar and Lunar Returns.) The SLR had Jupiter on Zenith square natal Jupiter setting (both close) with a moderately angular Mars also to her Jupiter. Similarly, the demi for here ad Jupiter square natal Jupiter extremely close to angles.

She can't travel now, but I'm recommending she try to return home in time for her April 12 Demi-SLR which, at that location, has Jupiter-Uranus closely conjunct MC.

Ugh, she has my deepest sympathies. Shingles covered my sister so terribly as she was dying, it's what really did her in, complicating all her other issues so much, and with such pain that she really wanted an end to it all.
I get the sores up inside my nose and into my sinus cavities. I've had the virus my entire life and have worked so hard to not infect anywhere else on my body, or to infect people around me. So far I've succeeded.
The pain is like a raw nerve being trompled by a heard of elephants in cleats, and it reeks havoc on my self esteem, thinking, and feelings.
I should have relocated this years SSR...I really should move off this whole area and go where my Venus is angular...but not my Saturn.
I have found that the essential oil of Rose helps, topically and internally to calm the nerves and help lay the virus to rest. It's very pricey but I have had good luck.
I hope she feels better soon!

edit: I'm always hesitant to give any "medical" advice, I'm not a Dr allowed to do that, but I do read and research things. I wanted to share this link to show that there is reason to my idea to utilize Rose.

Jim, you may want to delete this post, but for the pain of shingles your sister is experiencing she may be interested in this link at the 21:49 minute mark about a remedy for shingles pain.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AfFM8pfy4s

I had a real bad back with severe pain. The Doctors told me my only option was with expensive shots 4 times a year, but I talked with others who said the pain alleviating effects of these shots started to wear off after about a month. So, I happened to run across the above video and tried this pain remedy and it worked great for me after a few doeses. If your sister is interested when she gets back to Georgia and can’t get in California, I can meet her somewhere if she wants to try it for her shingles pain, or have her contact me for further details.

Thank you, Steve. I've passed the link along. - She's still in the acute phase and in a lot of pain and, of course, we're hoping that fades as this subsides. (E.g., her new SLR provides no aid going home but she should try to be back in Georgia in time for her demi.)
