Degraded to Category 3 almost at last minute. However, during much of its life it was the second most intense Atlantic hurricane ever observed in the Gulf (after 2005's Hurricane Rita). Its approach to Florida was terrifying as it rose twice to Category 5 speeds (maximum winds 180 mph) while maintaining a phenomenally low barometric pressure. While still terrible in consequent damages (it crossed central Florida completely before moving out into the Atlantic), it weakened considerably soon before landfall.

To date at least 28 deaths and over $30 billion n damages are attributed to Milton.

Landfall occurred as Pluto crossed Midheaven in Siesta Key. The ingresses are astonishingly good.
