Aug 12, 1976, Beirut
"Displacement of Palestinian Refugees. Lebanese Front decisive and strategic victory."
1,500-3,000 Palestinians killed, of more than 50,000 refugees in the camp.

Tel al-Zaatar ("The Hill of Thyme") was a Palestinian refugee camp in Beirut, administered by the U.N., housing 50,000-60,000. During the Lebanese Civil War, with the government's authority weak, 400 militant Lebanese forces surrounded Tel al-Zaatar in January 1976 "to contain the Palestinians."

This isn't a great example for a massacre (not bad; just not great) because, for the most part, it is showing the ongoing and escalating civil war more than the usual massacre profile that has been emerging.
