December 6, 2016, 22:03:32 UT, 5N16'51'', 96E06'29'', near Sigli, Indonesia, on the island of Sumatra.
NOTE: This is now being called the Aceh Earthquake in some quarters, named after the Indonesian province where it struck. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Aceh_earthquake

Magnitude 6.5. Last death toll I saw was 102, with 136 seriously injured. These numbers are expected to rise as rescuers dig further. Remembering the hundreds of thousands of deaths, mostly from tsunami, of the 2004 Sumatra-Andaman M7.4 quake (SMA Chapter 9), large numbers of people headed for the hills when it hit. However, no tsunami warnings have been issued.

CASUALTIES UPDATE 12/8: 102 dead, 2 missing, 1,273 injured, 12,300 displaced (per Wikipedia)

I'm intrigued that 40 seconds earlier another large quake, M5.5, occurred in Trinidad & Tobago. Given the interconnection of the globe, I suspect they are related but, of course, maybe they aren't. Just interesting.

COMMENT: We have the Libsolar (strange, and not fully satisfying) for solar ingresses; a sharp, clear Bridge that narrows to less than a month; a strong Caplunar for lunar ingresses; and quite exacting, descriptive daily timing.
