King Edward VII died

Post by Jim Eshelman »

I'm currently reading H.S. Green's book on mundane astrology, and may find a few events that I want to study with our techniques. As an explanation of how New Moons interface with equinox and solstice charts, he mentioned the death of King Edward VII on May 6, 1910. He attributed this to the vernal equinox chart having Saturn in the Xth House, "seriously afflicted" (it closely squared a setting Uranus), and April 9 New Moon conjoined it.

BTW, I also would have read the vernal equinox chart as inferring something similar, and would have described it differently: Sun conjoined Midheaven - the theme is about the king. Uranus set within about 1°, and Saturn squared Uranus and Ascendant. We definitely see this sort of thing for death of a head of state.

How about the Sidereal charts?

THE CAPSOLAR has Sun culminating, Mars exactly square MC (0°10'), and square Sun (1°41'), Sun more widely culminating. It does show affliction of the symbol of royalty, though Mars is the more dominant factor, and I might have expected war, an act of violence, etc. along that theme.

THE ARISOLAR also is Mars-dominant. Moon conjoins Pluto (0°14'), with Moon 0°07' from Ascendant. Mars is 2°24' above Ascendant, in close mundane conjunction with Moon.

THE CAPLUNAR has Moon conjunct a stationary Uranus (1°45'), Saturn exactly rising (0°15') with Sun just below (1°13') and in close mundane conjunction with Saturn (1°28') - this only shows well in the mundoscope, of course. It's a classic!

Probably the most important daily indication is in transits to the Capsolar, with t. Uranus 0°10' from Capsolar MC, only 0°03' from square Capsolar Mars. Concurrently, t. Saturn is 0°10' from Capsolar EP.
