Rio de Janeiro floods

Post by Jim Eshelman »

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/January_2 ... _mudslides

January 11, 2011
Floods and mudslides in "several towns of the Mountainous Region" in the Rio state of Brazil
903 died, damages $1.2B
Cities most affected are near Serra dos Organos, a national park, which is 22S28, 43W02

"In a 24-hour period between 11 and 12 January 2011... more rainfall than what is expected for the entire month. Flooding of many areas in the region followed immediately. The disaster caused widespread property damage and the supply of public utilities such as electricity, running water and phone lines was affected. Around 2,960 people had their homes destroyed."

I will use noon BZ2D (+2), January 11, 2011, for the coordinates of Serro dos Organos as a centerpoint of the region, although Rio itself isn't far away.

NOTE: I'm leaving his here as an example of perhaps the least possible astrological involvement for any event I've ever seen. It came down to a flooding Week chart and Pluto on a quotidian, which is phenomenally little.
