Da Vinci apartment fires

A notorious fire occurred in Los Angeles, erupting May 3, 1993, 1:20 AM in the Da Vinci Apartments in the Westlake district (near MacArthur Park). Ten people died (seven of them children) when flames engulfed an old apartment building that was heavily occupied by immigrants from Latin America. Psychological impact on the city was intense.

This came back into the news today because, over 20 years later, police have finally made arrests for the arson. All suspects arrested are part of the same gang.

I propose to look at the fire, and then to see if there is anything astrological causing the fire to come into awareness right now.

Remarkably, that 1:20 AM start time for the fire places Mars within 2° of Descendant.

The charts are decent - crazy, disturbed, heavy on Uranus-Neptune of the time... and then peaking with Pluto on MC for the Week chart, and a CapQ angle predictably hitting transiting Mars.

So the next question is... is there any way in which astrology draws a line between the occurrence of the fire and the arrests made this weekend, almost a quarter of a century later.

I think the most important thing is that transiting Uranus, at 26° Pisces, is square the Uranus-Neptune conjunction (26°33' and 27°31' Sagittarius) that dominated most of the charts of the time. This has expressions of disclosure, discovery, dispelling disguises and mystery, etc.

And, favoring the "discovery part of it, Jupiter has also been transiting square that Uranus-Neptune, and currently is still in orb of square the Uranus.

At the time of the fire, Venus opposed Jupiter (0°09') in the background. I don't know what it meant - whether we will learn, for example, that this arson had recreational more than malicious elements or something else. (It was certainly gang related, but whether that was a mixture of social status and totems, say as an initiation rite, I have no idea as yet.) In any case, transiting Mars today conjoins that Venus and opposes that Jupiter. Intuitively, this seems related to the arrests, though I can't say exactly how.

Sun today is on Eastpoint at the start of the fire - if the fire, indeed, started at or within a couple minutes of1:20 AM. This throws light on the matter and shows the police presence related to it.

So... not bad. Perhaps as good as we can get. No eye-opening blow-away hits, but credible and interesting.

Most intriguing of all to me, though, is that the fire chart's secondary progressions show a partile Moon-Mars conjunction - Moon-Mars! Fire-prone itself, I think it here means that, with respect to the undertaking of starting the fire as an act of arson, the event had matured to where something harsh and punitive would arise for those who perpetuated the act. I also can't ignore that progressed Sun is 0°09' from trine Jupiter at the fire, and sextile its Venus to the minute of arc. I suppose this is as close to "happy ending" as we can get (given that 10 people still died). Also, progressed Venus is 26°17', the same degree as transiting Uranus and equally square Neptune of the fire.
