RIP Chuck Berry. OMG, what can one say for such a man? I think, for me, it comes down to this: (1) Where (oh where) would the world be today if rock and roll never happened? (2) And where (oh where) would rock and roll have been without Chuck Berry?
Energy, animal genius, force of nature... My one encounter with him: I was on the sidewalk with him 30 years ago (almost exactly) the day he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame across the street from Capitol Records (I worked at Vine and Yucca) and have a couple of private anecdotes and observations.
Bottom line, he left the world reelin' and rockin'. Chucky B. Goode!
He was bon October 18, 1926, 6:59 AM CST, St. Louis, MO (Rated B, from his autobiogrpahy).
A Libra-Aquarius (there's that Aquarius Moon again - Elvis, Michael, Prince... see a pattern?), Mars in Aries. For a man whose fingers were miraculously gifted, his closest angular planet is Mercury, less than a degree. Sun and Mars are also (widely) foreground. Venus 0°08' from square Pluto and a degree or two from trine Jupiter. Moon 0°59' from trine Pluto, and both of them exactly sextile Mars.
Sex sells!
Chuck Berry RIP

BTW since the Walk ceremony time is recorded, I know when I met him almost to the minute: The ceremony began October 8, 1987 at 12:30 p.m., across the street from Capitol Records in Hollywood, CA. I suppose I should go back and see my transits.

Re: Chuck Berry RIP
Libra? He had a degree in hairdressing and cosmetology and worked as a beautician for a while. Aquarius? Well, becoming a beautician was the aftermath to three years in reform school for stealing cars, and later a couple of years in prison for transporting a minor across a state line for "immoral purposes," and then a short prison term later for tax evasion. His early music was described recently as "reckless and audacious." Libra? He's been married since 1948, which comes to just shy of 70 years.

That's a great clip I hadn't seen. Yours and the one below... oh, yeah - this is what I'm talkin' about! Kiddies, this is rock'n'roll. In an era when Elvis was only unscandalous if you weren't watching him, this is what adults were warned us about. Cold War, Cuban Missile Crisis... and this is what they were righteously worried about <vbg>. (We won.)

SteveS wrote:A great live performance by Chuck, thanks. I will definitely put this into one of my favorite mixed music CD’s. I have found the best cuts of the most popular songs by any kind of musical artist is found on You tube. Later, I will post instructions how one can go to youtube and select their favorite songs by any artists and burn their own musical CD’s free, with Windows 7 or higher with their free burn software. We should all strive to find the time to mix our favorite musical songs, because listening to our favorite songs as much as possible, brings pure Jupiter into our souls—picks us up---when we are down.
This song really brings out Chuck’s partile Venus-Pluto 90, with the ‘theme’ of much sexual pleasure. In my world, there has never been anything better I have experienced in my life compared to great sex listening to rock & roll. With Jupiter ruling any kind of good music, and being a Sidereal Astrologer recognizing my Jupiter rising, I now understand from a soul level why my soul resonates so much to Rock & Roll music. Of course, with my Sun partile 90 Uranus I KNOW why my choice of music is Rock & Roll. Here are some words from our colleague Ebertin about Venus-Pluto symbolism:And, if memory is serving me, I think I have a Sidereal Astrologer colleague, who found himself in an intensified Venus-Pluto situation when he moved himself to LA, moving into an angular situation with his partile Venus-Pluto 90.Principle:
Fanatic love, the desire for sensual pleasure, lasciviousness.
Psychological Correspondence:
…an intensified sex-expression…
