USS Cole bombing

A U.S. naval destroyer, the USS Cole, was attacked by Al-Qaeda suicide bombers while anchored in Aden, Yemen. (They brought a small boat, laden with explosives, along side the Cole and detonated them.) 17 of the crew were killed and another 39 injured.
