The Supreme Court heard arguments today as to whether or not Title VII of the Civil Rights Act grants basic protections to employees who are LGBT, so employers can't just fire them on a whim. Anthony Kennedy, who was the swing vote and wrote the decisions for all the previous decisions agreeing to LGBTs having rights, retired last year, and the court appears more conservative now than previously.

Four died and at least three others were wounded from gun violence at an illegal (unlicensed) gambling club. At last report, police have no leads on a suspect. Depending on the exact time, the shooting occurred either as Saturn had just passed IC or as Sun-Pluto were just approaching and crossing the angles.

The charts aren't great, though the event is not inconsistent with any of them. It reads like a minor local event, though the body count starts to look like a larger, national event. Then the CapQ displays the theme of illegalities and an exact square to Capsolar Asc shows the violence.

Anthony Kennedy, who was the swing vote and wrote the decisions for all the previous decisions agreeing to LGBTs having rights, retired last year, and the court appears more conservative now than previously.

It was an interesting mix of symbolism. On one side, the new Caplunar is exactly on cue for this kind of case with Venus in Libra exactly on MC square Moon: Moon-Venus dominates the Caplunar in ever way.

On the other hand, it was the day of a Sun-Saturn square, and that square fell squarely on the CapQ angles for Washington (with some Mercury as a garnish). I suppose the CanQ's message is simply that it was a high court event, since it is marked by MC conjunct transiting Jupiter plus EP conjunct ingress Neptune.

I'll be quite interested to see how the decision shakes out.

British PM Boris Johnson has reached a Brexit deal with the EU. It requires Parliament's approval, but the tone today is pretty optimistic.

Today, CapQ Asc crossed ingress Jupiter. The optimism likely will last at least today and, hey, maybe they got it right this time.

Apparently he'd been sick for a couple of months, but it was kept quiet. He was, among other things, the Chair of the House Oversight and Reform Committee.

So a defense department employee was supposed to testify before the House Intelligence Committee this morning in a secure area. Soon after the witness arrived, about 11:30 AM (Can't find an exact time, but that's close) about two dozen House Republicans, including Steve Scaliese, Alex Mooney, Steve King, Matt Gaetz, stormed the SCIF, bringing in cell phones and other devices that compromised the security of the area, and holding up the testimony for 5 hours. They were chanting and shouting and generally spreading hate and discontent.

Representatives who are not members of the committee are not allowed into a committee's hearing. None of these men were members of the committee whose hearing they stormed.

It came out later that they'd been encouraged to do this by Donald Trump.

I hope Nancy sanctions them. The Sergent at Arms tried to get them to leave, but finally the committee just left, and then they wandered off.

None of my representatives were involved, but we still clearly live in a third world country now.

Tornadoes that hit the northern Dallas area October 20-21 have now been assessed as causing over two billion dollars in damages. The Insurance Council of Texas stated this is likely a conservative estimate of where costs will go. The primary tornado was an EF3 with winds up to 140 mph. Altogether, 10 tornadoes struck the Dallas area. The first one near Dallas "tore an almost 16-mile-long path in just over 30 minutes through the northern side of Dallas Country" (The Weather Channel).

Tornadoes in north Texas touched down "from about 9 to 11 p.m. CDT" according to the Dallas Morning News. One touched "near 635 and Skillman in Dallas around 9:30 p.m." per Fox 4. National Weather Service reported a 9:26 PM CDT "large tornado... located over Richardson" that "produced damage on I-635;" I think this is likely the earliest touch we will find.

While passing through Rahim Yar Khan in the southern part of Punjab province in Pakistan a gas stove being used by passengers to cook breakfast blew up, setting off a fire that killed at least 74, injured dozens more. Most people died from jumping off the train.
As usual, there are a multitude of possible times, but I've seen several statements of about 6:30 AM no time zone given, October 31, 2019.

Horrid I'll try to dig out more, but for now take a look at October 31, 2019, 6:30 AM, Rahim Yar Khan, Pakistan. (Local time is -5. The town is 28N25, 70E18). The time given is approximately sunrise, with Sun-Uranus opposed across the horizon and Moon square Neptune exactly.

We have a lot of dormant ingresses, but we can focus in on the usual hard-hitters, the Week and Day charts. The October 27 Libsolar has Pluto 0°02' from MC (!) in mundane squares to Sun and Moon on Descendant opposite Uranus on Asc - it's quite explosive! If that weren't enough, there is a (barely) foreground partile Mars-Saturn square.

Meanwhile the CapQ has ingress Mars within 1° of Ascendant! We, of course, remain in the period when CanQ Moon opposes Mars partile for the whole world.

The Week chart and the CapQ - most of the time, that's all we need.

Trump and Melania changed their permanent residences to Mar-A-Lago in Florida. Don't know when. It was made nationally known about 7:30PM Eastern tonight.

The governor of NY said good riddance. Not like he's ever paid taxes here anyway.

The suspicion is Trump thinks NY won't be able to get copies of his taxes to release, but his business is in NY.
