There has been some discussion of late about aspects and their configurations. I though I would quote some words from Sidereal astrology teachings about this topic. Fagan says from ‘Primer of Sidereal Astrology:’
In the practice of sidereal astrology far and away the most powerful aspects are those most compatible with the four angles, the conjunction, opposition and the square. These are the principle aspects to which our attention should be directed. We reject the so-called minor aspects, particularly in return maps. Even the popular trine is of doubtful value. It is great importance to recognize that the quality of an aspect depends on the innate nature of the planets involved in the configuration and not on the angular distance between them. Thus a square between benefics is definitely to be regarded as benefic. Sun square Jupiter is potent for good. When two or more planets are simultaneously on the same, adjacent or opposite angles they are said to be in paranatellonta (paran). This is the most powerful of all configurations.
