I have been meaning to ask this for a while... is there any merit in palmistry? Like astrology it is fixed, apart from some minor changes during one’s lifetime
I haven’t found any good books on the subject. My right hand (dominant) has my heart and head line partly fused into one, in a part simian line. Not sure if palmistry could shed light on certain parts of natal astrology or not
Any thoughts?

Re: Palmistry
I don't know if there is objective validity in palmistry, though one can make a good argument that there should be. I do know that some people - strong psychics and people with more subtle psychic ability - can use palmistry to great effect. (There are also many signs of personality to be found in examining someone's hands regardless of the landscape of the palm.)
My view is that it's probably mostly valid as a focus for psychic ability and not objectively valid, at least not as usually presented.

Re: Palmistry
I have read a lot of palmistry books and looked at many peoples hands.
What it seems to be, the information given by the lines, is memory and past.
Not necessarily past lives.
The lines and creases show muscle memory, how you hold yourself, mostly unconsciously. They show the tendency (the actual tendons holding the muscles to the bones) to use and hold the body in a certain way.
Its time and repitition that carves out the image show in our palm.
In Yoga it is taught to seek Union and balance with the whole, to honor both the ying and the yang, and to holisticaly examine where we are restricting and holding and contorting parts of ourself and to free and liberate those restrictions.
I feel palmistry is a very useful tool for self examining where we are holding back and restricting ourselves and for bringing to light feelings and memories that are unprocessed and unsyntasized in our psyche so that we may intigrate them and let go of things that do not serve us and allow us to recieve what does serve us.
I have found working with clay a great therapy for forcing myself to break holding patterns and get all my hand mucles and tendons moving and flowing freely. You may enjoy pushing and pulling and rolling around in you palms some modeling clay. It never gets hard either.

Re: Palmistry
This question presents some really interesting points. I’m a big sidereal astrology fan, but I’m better at asking questions as to why and how something works than reading a chart, mainly as I see patterns in everyday “things” all the time, and in my opinion require investigation and off I go....
My investigations with maths, geometry and qabalistic tools have led me to some really interesting personal discoveries. But in summary, everything in nature has a pattern of growth, that is expressed through maths and geometry, and is a micro pattern to a larger macro pattern. Everything has a point of incarnation or birth and unfolds in accordance to its pre-determined pattern of growth, but which occurs in its specific “localised” surroundings which then affect its ultimate path of existence etc.
I’ve spent many years investigating the maths and geometry of flowers and how they mimic or rather grow in accordance to the the same maths and geometry that are embedded in the zodiac, some like the sunflower literally are their own zodiac in plant form. The same point can be made for our spiralling fingerprints at the end of our fingers and how the tips of our finger prints express toroidal spiralling patterns of nature and of course are connected to our palms...
When you see a toroidal spiral, you see the pattern of nature and then everything’s a natal chart waiting interpretation in the context of its local surroundings. In my opinion.

Hi Steve, If your interested in this type of thing, you can go search on "Phyllotaxis". Its a good starting point. The maths and geometry involved exist everywhere. As jupiter states, theres a forum for this type of thing so im not going to post it here. I'm a good 18 years into this project and will publish it online at some point, although who will benefit from it is somewhat hard to quantify. I did always imagine astrologers and esoterics would get it.

Yes, before I discovered Sidereal Astrology in the late 80’s, I briefly read a little about Phyllotaxis and found the subject very interesting. Obviously we see with “Phyllotaxis” a coded mathematical with distinct individual patterns all around us in different aspects of nature. I can easily see how Palmistry would/could fall under its domain. I got so engrossed with the mathematical and individual pattern of the Sunflower, when I bought the property I now reside, for a few years I grew a small crop of Sunflowers and studied their movements with the rising Sun.If your interested in this type of thing, you can go search on "Phyllotaxis". Would you give a link to this forum? Jupiter’s link will not allow me direct access. I would be highly interested in joining this forum. As jupiter states, theres a forum for this type of thing so im not going to post it here.

I understand Peter about quantifying this subject matter, but I would be very interested in drawing on your 18 years of experience, so when you do publish online let ME know, or if you want to start a thread on this forum… I am very interested in the so called labeling of the ‘esoteric’ numbered squares for the Planets/Sun/Moon, particularly with the Sun.I'm a good 18 years into this project and will publish it online at some point, although who will benefit from it is somewhat hard to quantify.

Steve, you can't click the link and go right there? The link is to the "Experimental, Speculative, Exploring" forum here on Solunars.

OK Jim, I miss understood about the link. Maybe Peter will start a thread there to see where it may lead to...
