Marion's 2021 SSR

Post by Jim Eshelman »

The topic of selecting ideal SSR locations seems popular, so I'll loop you all in on what we're planning for Marion's birthday. In LA, she has a pretty emotionally and circumstantially hard SSR coming in three months. This is more worrisome because around December she and I both (I should say "each") have the worst concentration of simultaneously bad progressions as I've seen in a long time... so I want to see that we are well fortified with positive SSRs at least. (Mine later... but I think we have to go to the Carolinas this year and money remains strained.)

Here is her SSR for May 29, 2021 in LA:

t Moon on Asc -9°26'
t Pluto on Asc -4°01'
r Neptune on MC -3°36'
r Venus on IC -3°33'
t Eris on N -1°45'
t Saturn on EP-l -0°24'
t Mars on Dsc -0°49'
---------------------------
t Uranus on IC +0°07'

(no Moon aspects)

r Venus-Neptune op. 0°03'
t Pluto sq. r Neptune 0°25' mundo
t Pluto sq. r Venus 0°28' mundo
t Saturn sq. r Neptune 0°42'
t Mars-Uranus sq. 0°55' mundo
t Saturn sq. r Venus 1°01'

t Saturn-Uranus sq. 1°09'
t Pluto-Eris sq. 2°00'
t Mars-Eris sq. 2°08'
t Uranus op. r Neptune 2°08'
t Uranus conj. r Venus 2°10'
t Mars sq. r Venus 2°44' mundo
t Mars sq. r Neptune 2°47' mundo
t Mars-Pluto op. 3°12' mundo

Other Partile
t Sun sq. r Pluto 0°12' mundo
t Jupiter op. r Uranus 0°21' mundo

Forgive me if I seem overly concerned that, among other things, a woman might lose her husband under such a chart.

So far, we've picked New Orleans as the preferred location. We're not getting the partile benefic that is usually better, but the Sun-Jupiter are exactly centered on the angles and the chart puts her in the driver's seat. It has weaknesses, especially the strength of the natal malefics, but they are under positive aspect, so it's always possible we'll reconsider, but I think the maximum benefit is probably in this general area.

r Uranus on Dsc -2°24'
t Jupiter on Asc -2°02'
r Moon on WP-l -1°03'
r Mars on Dsc -0°50'
r Pluto on WP-l -0°24'

t Su/Ju on angles -0°18'
---------------------------
r Sun on IC +1°27'
r Saturn on Asc +2°44'

(no Moon aspects)

r Moon-Pluto conj. 0°39'
t Jupiter op. r Uranus 0°22' mundo

r Sun-Saturn sq. 1°17' mundo
r Sun-Pluto sq. 1°19'
r Moon-Sun sq. 1°58'

t Jupiter op. r Mars 1°12' mundo
r Mars-Uranus conj. 1°34' mundo
r Sun-Mars sq. 2°17' mundo
t Jupiter sq. r Sun 3°29' mundo [wider than usual; listed to contrast Saturn]
r Mars-Saturn op. 3°34' mundo

Other Partile
t Pluto op. r Mercury 0°59' mundo

We did switch gears and plans. New Orleans sounded like so much fun but - for this year in particular - we didn't want her natal malefics so close. (Transiting Mars half a degree from Dsc in LA or natal Mars the same in New Orleans.) Switching from "Sun exactly on, Jupiter close" to "Jupiter exactly on, Sun close" took us through the intriguing arc of Mobile - Birmingham - Nashville ("Hi, Steve, we were in the neighborhood..."); but anyplace that highlight transiting Jupiter is going to bring up her natal Mars-Uranus. That's not our best move this year.

So, I abandoned transiting planets to look at natal planets. The best option was to put her natal Jupiter on Nadir, go through a beautiful location that would feed her Taurus soul, and generally have a good time - by going a few miles north of Mount Shasta. Just above Shasta is the famous tiny town of Weed, and three or four miles further is the even tinier and utterly obscure town of Edgewood which (give a couple of miles or so) is the best fit. Here's the SSR for Edgewood. (We still get Mars-Uranus - this time transiting planets and a mundane square - but much farther from the angles. There is also an 'acquired' Moon-Saturn conjunction in mundo, though wide. The goal as usual is to get a benefic within about 0°00' of an angle to overwhelm everything else.)

t Mars on Dsc -7°35'
t Uranus on IC -7°04'

----------------------------
r Jupiter on N +0°03'
r Eris on N +1°18'
t Moon on EP-a +1°37'

t Moon-Saturn conj. 3°49' mundo

t Uranus conj. r EP 0°27'
t Mars-Uranus sq. 0°30' mundo

r Jupiter-Eris conj. 1°15'

Other Partile
t Jupiter op. r Uranus 0°18' mundo
-- t Jupiter op. r Mars 0°56' mundo
t Saturn sq. r Neptune 0°59'
t Saturn sq. r Venus 1°01'

In summary, the strongest factors in order of strength are:

r Jupiter on N 0°03'
t Uranus conj. r EP 0°27'
t Mars-Uranus sq. 0°30'
r Jupiter-Eris conj. 1°15'
r Eris on N 1°18'
t Moon on EP 1°37'
t Moon-Saturn conj. 3°49'

I understand Jim. Even if you and Marion were going to be close to our area, I could not travel for a possible meeting in person. I am awaiting my appointment with a Neurosurgeon May 3rd to see if I can have robotic surgery on my back where I will be able to sit down again without experiencing much nerve pain. My MRI on my back showed moderate to serious problems with the L4, L5 disks.
My wife loves New Orleans and Nashville has a cool downtown district and many interesting areas outside of downtown. I have been to Nashville for several live rock/roll concerts. I really like your detailed analysis with relocating Sidereal Solar Returns, it would provide a great astrological service for those interested in re-locating the location on their birthdays for better harmony throughout their new solar years. And besides, the Dali Lama says everyone should once a year travel to a location they have never traveled. :)

I think this is a great approach - aim for the partial benefic, and keep it practical re how far away.

Just as an idea, have you looked at the East Coast near the birth location? The tr trio of Ve, Me, Ne can be tweaked to have Ve as closest , and Jupiter is in the zone too, with natal Moon in the focus of the fore.

The SSR occurred at 41N28'36", 122W27'16". When we get home next week, I'll set up the finished chart, but wanted to record the information here.

Form the limited astrological tools I have with me on this trip, I think we got Ascendant square natal Jupiter to 0 degrees 00 minutes orb.

Jim, when you get home from your trip and have time, I would appreciate you looking at my wife's next SSR and offering what you think is her best location to re-locate her SSR. I don't like that angular combo of her SSR Neptune and Natal Mars in Springville! Nothing we can do about her partile SSR Moon-Saturn 90. Thanks

Confirming: If we were to assume that Marion's birthtime is correct to the second of time (an unreasonable assumption, but it does seem to be almost exactly that), then the SSR has:

17°58'06" Pisces - r Jupiter
17°58'26" Sagittarius - SSR Asc

The full breakout is:

t Mars on Dsc -7°36'
t Uranus on IC -7°07'

-------------------------- r Jupiter on N 0°00'
r Eris on N +1°10'
t Moon on EP-a +1°36'

t Uranus conj. r EP 0°20' [calculate this exactly]
r Jupiter-Eris conj. 1°15'
t Moon-Saturn conj. 3°49' mundo

-- t Mars-Uranus sq. 0°29' mundo

Other partile
t Jupiter op. r Uranus 0°18' mundo
t Jupiter op. r Mars 0°56' mundo
t Saturn sq. r Neptune 0°59'
t Saturn sq. r Venus 1°01'
