(Reorganized from scattered posts January 6.)
At 3:59 PM Eastern, NY Times reports that the National Guard is being deployed to Washington, DC after the pro-Trump mob swarmed the capital, vandalizing, breaking windows, some injuries.
To put this afternoon in perspective: The first and second people in line of succession for the U.S. presidency were evacuated to safety by the Secret Service when supporters of the current seated president (literally calling the shots from a "We will not concede!" rally in front of the White House) stormed the U.S. Capitol, soon before the National Guard was mobilized to the capital city. - At least 2021 has more action scenes than 2020! (I said it would be a more active year.)
This being an unprecedented event in this country, let's give it a full workup. Using the 2:16 PM event (as good a time as any)...
UPDATE 2/21/21: When writing about this in the future, a slightly different time seems appropriate. The first Proud Boys contingent headed from the rally to the Capitol at 10:58 AM and a crowd built up over the next couple of hours. At 12:51 PM, apparently on a signal, the crowd rushed the fences and broke through two minutes later: At 12:51 PM, Pluto was 0°28' past MC, Mars was 0°13' past EP, and Uranus 2°53' above Asc in mundane square to Pluto. Also, Moon was mundanely opposite the exactly angular Mars 0°42', even though they were almost 9° apart in longitude. In the future, I will use 12:51 as the starting time.

I could dig out dozens of news links saying otherwise, but this clip from night before last summarizes it all quite compactly - and with much appreciated humor.
