USA Mundane Forecast
for the four weeks beginning APRIL 22, 2022

If you are unfamiliar with the methods and interpretations of Sidereal mundane astrology, please see my free book Sidereal Mundane Astrology. (A link can be found near the top of the Publications sub-forum.) For standard interpretations, see Chapter 8 of the current (17th) Edition.

USA Mundane Forecast §§§ The Biden Report §§§ Other Locations §§§ Ingress Summaries §§§ Transits to Capsolar Planets §§§ Outer Planet Sign Transits

LONG-TERM (Solar Ingresses)
Capsolar effective Jan 15, 2022 to Jan 15, 2023. (Summarized from my original interpretation in the Jan 15-30 forecast.)
  • An accounting cycle for the Biden administration. Republican gains seem certain in the midterm elections.
  • Sun conjunct Pluto (1°21'): Unprecedented conditions, irrevocable shifts, rebellion against prevailing conditions, assault on or removal of those in power, and disrespect for law (greater lawlessness). People demand freedom from arbitrary control or leadership they feel is failing them. More people think of themselves as "a law unto oneself" or "exception to the rules." Diverse themes from severe natural disasters to political confrontation.
  • Moon-Mars-Neptune: Crime is up. Neighborhoods feel more dangerous. Ferocious civil unrest. What was once called "civilization" rips open with unaddressed grievance while struggling to settle into new patterns in which people feel greater safety and security.
  • Sun-Pluto with Moon-Mars-Neptune: Increased physical threat to the president or the Federal government as a whole (perhaps through heightened domestic terrorism).
  • Moon opposite Mars (affecting the world as a whole): A state of alarm. Typical expressions: violence, blood, fire, earthquakes, accidents, other destruction; often significant loss of life. Other expressions: war, bombings and explosions, other attacks, deaths of leaders. Moon square Neptune (local to Washington): Waves of emotional reaction, fervor, herd-mind arousal, or panic accompanied by confusion, disorientation, uncertainty, and an undermined sense of security. Mars-Neptune: Panic or feeling the ground fall from under one’s feet - surging adrenaline with heightened aroused emotion - increasing the risk of treachery, sabotage, other betrayal, poisoned relationships, and scandal.
  • Sun/Mercury = IC: Broadly intensifies and highlights Mercury themes, including transportation, commerce, and science. Mercury square Uranus: Scientific and technological advances continue (no turning from technology). Freedom and flexibility in communication and travel are big break-out themes, including significant expansion and redesign in social media's impact. Science continues to have direct, relevant influence on people's changing lives.
  • Mercury-Uranus impacts social trends: With growing urgency of antisocial independence and autonomous self-sufficiency, with people feeling exempt from precedents and historic social standards, "independent thinking" becomes a rallying cry (though probably more of a fantasy than a reality: herd-mind passions surge the cry for "independent" opinion). Passion-fed rejection of expert opinion, reliance on crowd opinion, other challenges to convention or authority. “Don’t tell me how to think” takes on new, widespread life.
Arisolar (Apr 14)
Arisolar effective Apr 14 to Oct 18, 2022. (Summarized from my original interpretation in the Mar 26-Apr 22 forecast.)
  • A neutral chart with little independent impact. Primarily yields to the Capsolar.
  • Angular Mercury highlights obvious Mercury themes (communication, transportation, technology), with possible newsworthy developments in these areas - and perhaps in the news media itself.
MEDIUM-TERM (The Bridge)
ALL MONTH: Pluto sq. Capsolar Asc, Neptune sq. Capsolar Moon, forging a NEPTUNE-PLUTO ZONE. The continuing procession of shifting conditions is met by collective (massing) populist voices. Waves of heightened emotional reaction, fervor, and herd-mind arousal, possibly accompanied by confusion, uncertainty, and an undermined sense of security. This could be a reflection of the election cycle or the ferocious civil unrest forecast from the Capsolar for the year.

Apr 27-May 8 & May 14-20: Jupiter sq. CapQ Moon then Jupiter cross Cansolar MC in addition to the Neptune and Pluto influences. The former affects the world in general; the later is specific to the United States. This gives a positive spin to most of the Neptune-Pluto energies this month. Jupiter-Neptune-Pluto has several possible expressions, including rousing civil rights and labor rights movements; progressive social idealism or intents to reconstruct the social order; inflating, bullish markets and expansive speculation; religious or spiritual movements dominating the news; and extreme, outlandish weather, especially in the forms of flooding.

May 16-19: For a few days, Mars squares Capsolar Moon, igniting a harsher side of Jupiter-Neptune-Pluto. By itself, such Mars aspects (affecting the whole world) sound alarm bells, triggering violence, blood, fire, bombs, forceful natural disasters, accidents, and other destruction. Given the concurrent aspects, this time it seems more ideology-driven, perhaps volatilizing the harsher sides of the paragraph immediately above.

Saturn enters Aquarius for about a month on May 19, previewing her later, longer stay. Summaries of longer-term trends from outer planet sign transits are here.

SHORT-TERM (Lunar Ingresses)

Liblunar (Apr 16)
Effective Apr 16-May 6. Continuing in force for the first half of the new month, this Liblunar repeats and draws out themes already established in the Capsolar and Cansolar. Moon is exactly on Nadir. Pluto sets. Moon opposes culminating Sun 0°02' in mundo and both luminaries square the setting Pluto.

It seems President Biden is especially the center of attention, with very significant news. He likely takes a demoralizing hit. Given the overall tone of the year, I expect it not to be easy for him. He might surprise everyone with his familiar Scorpio boldness and audacity, but holding him accountable for results is the likely direction. As mentioned for the Capsolar, Sun-Pluto aspects foster unprecedented conditions, irrevocable shifts, rebellion against prevailing conditions, and challenging those in power.

A second theme arising from the 0°02' Moon-Sun opposition is marriage. Under this aspect, significant publicized weddings occur and other actions, such as legislation or court decisions impacting marriage rights and conditions.

Caplunar (Apr 22)
The Capsolar is dormant, so the Liblunar continues in force for the nation. Fire season may be starting much earlier than usual in California.

Arilunar (Apr 29)
The Arisolar is dormant, so the Liblunar continues in force. Fire indications continue in California. At the other extreme, see the map section for Venus-Jupiter-Neptune lines suggesting unusually great amounts of rain and possible flooding.

Canlunar (May 7)
Effective May 7-20. This month's one fully voiced lunar ingress has Neptune 0°11' from IC in Washington and Mercury close to Descendant. Moon, due west on the horizon, intensifies this with mundane (i.e., PVP) squares, placing a Moon-Mercury-Neptune trio in charge for two weeks. Impact is likely to be powerful with a partile (mundane) Moon-Pluto conjunction for the U.S.

One place Neptune, Moon-Neptune, and Mercury-Neptune often show together is in the stock market, which may excite much anxiety for these two weeks. Inflation and investor enthusiasm has likely been high in the first part of the year under Jupiter-Neptune conjunctions and now, as Jupiter pulls away, that bubble may pop, perhaps under the May 16-19 Mars transits.

More broadly, Mercury-Neptune sponsors confusion, disorientation, and silly (bad) choices. Uncertainty fuels “What happens next?” or “When will the other shoe drop?” anxiety. Transportation and communication can be impaired, of course. Other events that disorient and perplex are common. Moon-Neptune adds the flavor of an undermined sense of security.

Just remember that, "This too shall pass." There is always another ingress on its way!

Localized influences shift from earlier and later weeks. The longitude of Atlanta has Mars on IC, suggesting fires or violence. A Saturn line arcing across the West intersects Sun and Uranus in Colorado, whence startling bad news emerges. Another source of Saturn trouble is central Oklahoma.

Liblunar (May 14)
The Libsolar is dormant, so the Canlunar continues in force for the nation. Venus pleasingly touches New England, where a beautiful spring settles in. Jupiter runs through and around Atlanta, suggesting generous rains and other early sense of bounty. Mars and Neptune edge the greater Mississippi Delta region and parts due north where uneasy tensions are more likely. Southern California gets plenty of sunshine.

Two harsh zones are the Saturn line from southeast Arizona curving up to Montana and a Mars line that cuts through southern Florida and then grazes North Carolina and the East Coast right through Boston. This latter pattern is typical of early onset of the hurricane season but may take other Mars-themed forms as well.

The Biden Report

Post by Jim Eshelman »

SIDEREAL LUNAR RETURN (Apr 30)
Effective Apr 29-May 27. Pluto on Eastpoint (0°45') opposes Jupiter on Westpoint (1°36'). The opposition is 2°21' wide. This is the main feature of the SLR and nearly the only feature worth noting. Transiting Sun reinforces the aspect by a 0°12' mundane square to Pluto.

Pluto to natal Jupiter, which has been with President Biden his entire time in office, signifies a redefinition of, or major shift in, his status, finances, or reputation. Usually, these shifts are positive, though, in theory, the transit could signify either a dramatic elevation in status or dragging down the mighty. Nothing in this chart suggests a dragging down: We are probably witnessing the long Pluto transit (two years or more) that shows his rise to the presidency and first term of office. (The same transit never toppled Pres. Trump while in office despite two impeachments.)

Nonetheless, while Biden likely sits squarely in the command chair, non-foreground partile aspects suggest a backdrop of having to defend his position. For example, Mars squares his Saturn (0°19') and a fighting spirit seems roused by Uranus' exact transits to Mars (ecliptical) and Pluto (mundane). However, the weight of this accessory aspects is in his favor: He has an exact Venus-Jupiter conjunction mundanely square his Uranus (though deeply background) and Mercury opposite natal Venus. He continues to have strong alliances on both sides of the aisle, even if one side isn't very vocal about it.

SIDEREAL DEMI-LUNAR RETURN (May 14)
May 13-27. Biden's demi-lunar isn't a terribly important chart except to the extent it reinforces the main message of the full SLR. Altogether, he has three benefics foreground: Though transiting Venus and Jupiter are barely foreground, their midpoint is 0°50' from Midheaven.

His most angular planet is natal Jupiter, 3°00' from Ascendant. It is again opposed by transiting Pluto, about 4° from Descendant. Additionally, transiting Jupiter opposes natal Neptune, which commonly means a clean start emotionally with anxiety eased: One is released from what was hanging over one's head, perhaps forgiven for a perceived trespass. One feels free to dream again, though the transit says nothing about whether the dreams will come true; nonetheless, they provide psychological relief. Saturn squares his Mars (mundanely) in the middleground, but he has two other partile aspects involving Mercury (transiting Sun to natal Mercury and transiting Mercury to natal Uranus) that suggest an abundance of (probably insightful) ideas.

Geographic areas centered on map lines have a roughly 150-200 mile leeway (3°) for strong effects. For these mappings of planetary energies, see standard interpretations in Chapter 8 of Sidereal Mundane Astrology. (A link to the free current edition can always be found near the top of the Publications sub-forum.) Readers may wish to consider all planet lines and intersections against the standard interpretations.

Transits to Capsolar Planets

Post by Jim Eshelman »

Transits to Capsolar planets are important identifiers for locales where the 'natal' planet was angular in the Capsolar, or where it spins to a CapQ angle at the time of the aspect.

t Uranus sq. Capsolar Saturn START to Apr 30

t Mars co. Capsolar Neptune May 11-14

Outer Planet Sign Transits

Post by Jim Eshelman »

Transits to Capsolar planets are important identifiers for locales where the 'natal' planet was angular in the Capsolar, or where it spins to a CapQ angle at the time of the aspect.

Pluto in Capricorn (2021-2038)
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=2475&p=33906#p33904
Harsher, struggling, dystopian: people doubt they will regain guarantees of safety or security from violence, economic crisis, or cultural breakdown. Autonomous self-sufficiency, struggle for survival. Need to preserve and restore survivability of the planet. Shortages of land, secure living space, and privacy (territorial conflicts). Hunger and dwelling insecurity. People determining anew how they want to be governed. Control vs. being controlled. Increased social isolation and focus on survival (anticipating breakdown of society or survivability of the world with depleting stability and resources). Intensified tensions between individual survival vs. connected wider community, and between uplifted and controlling classes vs. the debased and controlled classes. Breakdown of old structures and outmoded patterns. Bedrock financial institutions are challenged and reassessed. New economies emerge, including a structural reconceiving of work, jobs, employment, and earnings. Anything father-themed comes under attack (and retaliates). Ancient grievances and resentments are renewed. Society's relationship to aging and the aged will change necessarily. Revolution in pharmacology.

Neptune in Aquarius (2009-2023)
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=388
Suppressed or diffused social progressiveness, squashed rebellions, deranged concepts of liberty, all setting the stage for a future conflict or breakthrough after the transit is over. Imagined new vistas and possibilities without current capacity to reach or manage them. Roused socialist-leaning liberalism. Failure of universalism, futurism, or true enlightenment to flourish. Shortage of dispassionate clarity, fostered ignorance.

This transit reflects living in a time when most people feel like we are living in a science fiction wonderland, "imagining the inconceivable." Change happens so fast, technical progress accelerating far beyond any vision prior generations had to the 21st century (provided it doesn't involve transportation). One aspect of this is increased complexity with life changing faster than neurology can grasp, manage, and keep up. It has fostered technological surveillance and loss of privacy.

Uranus in Aries (2017-2025)
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=390&p=2560#p2560
A volatile time politically. Issues of economics, government, and accelerated armament. Great challenges to the stability of existing alliances: Acute polarization splits former allies (individuals, social groups, or nations) along new axes. Widespread dissatisfaction fuels repudiation of historic closely held views and values. Each such era, while people are passing through it, feels like a transitions between a concluding old cycle and an opening new cycle.

An unyielding, unremitting sense of emergency exists, then autocratic governance increases. Extraordinary autocratic power is yielded (voluntarily granted) to national leaders, who acquire increasing dominion of economic and social issues. Armament, safety, going one's way alone without the encumbrances of alliances... these win out over the demand for personal liberty and social equality. The masses seem more comfortable with an authoritarian father figure to "make everything OK." Absent a state of war, there me be a suspension of checks and balances on autocracy normal to martial law.

Increased polarization and struggle between opposing extremes - each historic period has its own example, whether it be arising fascism vs. socialism (or political elements that, if more extreme, would have emerged as overtly fascist or socialist, extremism of right vs. left), opposing views on slavery, Catholic vs. Protestant wars, etc. Economics (especially trade) are unstable, in a precarious balance. Economics policies become more nationalistic and autistic, increasingly protective, to defend against trade inequities and competition imbalances. Extreme unrest in economically hurting populations.

Saturn in Capricorn (Jan 2020 - Jan 2023)
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=3344#p28419
Individual and political struggles for survival, autonomy, and self-sufficiency. Land & space: Shortages of land and secure space, redefining boundaries; territorial acquisitions and annexations, mineral rights, mining conflicts; walls, embargoes, spatial segregation, splitting historically separate countries into autonomous nations. Earth & water crises: Ecological concerns regarding climate change; land- and water-based retaliations by the Earth against destabilizing climate change; volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, no-warning fire outbreaks; water and land rights and conservation. Hunger, food-security, and dwelling issues including crop failures and famine; further crumbling of farming as a viable livelihood; hunger may be weaponized (or may be addressed aggressively). Earth-mindful rebellion religions thrive, including renewal and empowerment of paganism. Major finance developments: Vast financial institutional restructuring and management, especially favoring capitalism. Changes in how we collectively control money and commerce including bedrock foundations, controls, and financial restructuring; institutions aimed at money security are created or strengthened; long-standing economic hardship and social disenfranchisement boil over. Fear: Focus on how we manage and respond to it. Disabilities and misfortune draw focus: "Inferiority" (so-called) more visible; disability and genetic bigotry; widespread civil liberties conflicts and civil rights resistance activism. Relief from the arts and laughter.

Saturn in Aquarius (May 19 -June 20, 2022)
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=4568#p43719
Democratizing power, rebelling against restriction, fighting for freedom. The masses rise against tyranny. A surging anti-imperial, anti-authoritarian wave with new constitutions, pivotal elections, social unrest, marches, riots, civil wars and other wrestling for liberty (with predictable resistance and push-back). Optimistic for voting rights and historic gains in racial equity. Liberal social reforms and economics, likely including universal health care and continued Keynesian policies. Free trade breaks economic bottlenecks. Democratizing commerce as an innovative force, creating new markets. Science, invention, and technology thrive (technology stocks win). Medical science breakthroughs, especially in genetic medicine. Traditional medicine flourishes as brilliant science meets a more enlightened, practical model of delivering health care. Water rights and other pipeline issues are increasingly important. Agnosticism and atheism become stronger social forces. Pragmatic futurism in diverse forms.

I no longer deal with the stock market but sent your latest forecast to 1 stock speculator who does. I got an e-mail back from him asking me to let him know if I see a good corrective entry point for him to purchase tech stocks. I told him I would do my best but no guarantees. :)

Saturn is now in Aquarius for a month, so we'll see if this comes about as predicted. The NASDAQ is starting low, so it has a lot of room to climb.
