What an elegant man and phenomenal actor with important social impact. His Oscar was for the 1963 Lilies of the Field, (see the Virgo theme!) but his three 1967 movies rode the social revolution under way and made history: In the Heat of the Night, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, and To Sir, Witrh Love all the same year.

Things you might not know about Sir Sidney Poitier's chart.

Aquarius Sun, Virgo Moon, Mars in Taurus. Pluto foreground. Strong Mars aspects to Sun, Uranus, and Pluto. A rare chart that has more numerous Class 2 aspects than Class 1, so is open to many subtleties. Here's the whole picture:

I'm not sure where in the Bahamas he lived at the end. The nation is spread out across several islands quite a bit apart. The best I can find are references to his living in Nassau at least at some points, so perhaps it was there. (I have very fond memories of Nassau, a beautiful place.)

This moves his Pluto closer to MC and creates an intriguing Pluto-Sedna paran square that eventually may tell us something or other.

His chart is remarkably inexpressive of his death. The main transit is Jupiter's conjunction with his Sun, which does show one type of easy death (and lots of accolades immediately after). Ah, and there is a progressed Sun-Saturn opposition (20'). But not much. His last solar return (presuming Nassau) was - like his transits - very Jupiter driven and quite lovely.

A correspondent from the Bahamas said Poitier died in his LA home.

Looking back at this... I see that Wikipedia now says he died in his Beverly Hills home. According to the death certificate, Wikipedia says "the cause of death was cardiopulmonary failure, with Alzheimer's disease and prostate cancer listed as underlying causes."

Poitier is one of my February 20 sample charts here:

I will use that thread as a place to explore the impact of relocation.
