A breakdown of the 72 murderers in my chart files:
Sun-signs
While Sun in Sagittarius was no surprise (in second place), the unexpected finding was that 10 of the 72 examples had Sun in Leo. This might be slightly affected by seasonal birth trends, but is high nonetheless. Areas to explore with this include Leo's name being a pun in old Egyptian for the word "knife," making both Leo and Sagittarius constellations named for weapons (and both ancient related to hunting etc.). - It is noteworthy that Sun was least often foreground of all the planets.
Capricorn (2) and Gemini (3) were lowest.
Moon-signs
The two highest signs were no surprise at all: Sagittarius at 11, Scorpio at 10. (Six were expected in each.) It's rare that adjacent signs share such an excess, but Sagittarius and Scorpio Moons were both known to have this abundance just from casual observation. Moon in Pisces was nearly as high with 9, still 50% more than expected.
The lowest are Leo (2), where Sun was strongest and Aquarius (3).
Other
An excess of Mars in Pisces is noteworthy. Mars spends about 1/14 of its time in Pisces, so 5 instances were expected.

If the information we ca get from the statistics (about a group of people that we know have something specific behavioral in common) is aimed at increasing our understanding of the human behavior and the working of Nature, in this case of the murderers I think the statistical info on their Mars aspects would be most useful, this being a group which has in common that they have expressed their energy directing it in a way that is violent to another human being, and specifically so that it terminates another's life (it's generally a phenomenon of personal-expression-of-power).

The aspects are coming. So far, the Mars aspects aren't the most interesting by a long shot (except for the always-prevalent Venus-Mars aspects), but I'm only about a fourth of the way done so it could all shake out differently.
BTW, I've always found that the most useful thing to get from such statistics is evidence on the nature of astrological structures, more than information about the group in question (though that, of course, is also of interest). I'm not particularly interested in murderers as such (except that they usually make outstanding examples), but I had a collection of them on hand almost twice as large as the last major study on them, so I thought we might uncover something about the behavior of the structures.
We'll see where that takes us.
