LONG-TERM (Solar Ingresses)
Capsolar effective Jan 15, 2022 to Jan 15, 2023. (Summarized from my Jan 15-30 forecast.)
- An accounting cycle for the Biden administration. Republican gains seem certain in the midterm elections.
- Sun conjunct Pluto (1°21'): Unprecedented conditions, irrevocable shifts, rebellion against conditions, assault or removal of those in power, and disrespect for law (greater lawlessness). People demand freedom from control or leadership they feel is failing them. Solar figures are challenged and held accountable. More people think of themselves as "a law unto oneself" or exception to the rules. Many possibilities, from natural disasters to political confrontation.
- Since May 22, Sun-Pluto has progressed to within 1°00'. This progression lasts until January. We are in the part of 2022 when the above Sun-Pluto phenomena come into their own.
- Moon-Mars-Neptune: Crime is up. Neighborhoods feel more dangerous. Ferocious civil unrest. What was once called "civilization" rips open with unaddressed grievance while struggling to settle into new patterns in which people feel safer and more secure.
- Sun-Pluto with Moon-Mars-Neptune: Increased physical threat to the president or the Federal government as a whole (perhaps through heightened domestic terrorism).
- Moon opposite Mars (affecting the world as a whole): A state of alarm. Typical expressions: violence, blood, fire, earthquakes, accidents, other destruction; often significant loss of life. Other expressions: war, bombings and explosions, other attacks, deaths of leaders. Moon square Neptune (local to Washington): Waves of emotional reaction, fervor, herd-mind arousal, or panic accompanied by confusion, disorientation, uncertainty, and an undermined sense of security. Mars-Neptune: Panic or feeling the ground fall from under one’s feet - surging adrenaline with heightened aroused emotion - increasing the risk of treachery, sabotage, other betrayal, poisoned relationships, and scandal.
- Sun/Mercury = IC: Broadly intensifies and highlights Mercury themes, including transportation, commerce, and science. Mercury square Uranus: Scientific and technological advances continue (no turning from technology). Freedom and flexibility in communication and travel are big break-out themes, including significant expansion and redesign in social media's impact. Science continues to have direct, relevant influence on people's changing lives.
- Mercury-Uranus impacts social trends: With growing urgency of antisocial independence and autonomous self-sufficiency, with people feeling exempt from precedents and historic social standards, "independent thinking" becomes a rallying cry (though probably more of a fantasy than a reality: herd-mind passions surge the cry for "independent" opinion). Passion-fed rejection of expert opinion, reliance on crowd opinion, other challenges to convention or authority. “Don’t tell me how to think” takes on new, widespread life.
The July 17 Cansolar is dormant for Washington. The mostly boring Arilunar persists until mid-October as the ingress of the quarter (it has only Mercury angular and is fairly nondescript). For the world as a whole, we should watch for locations where the Sun-Mercury-Pluto alignment is angular.
In the U.S. for the next three months, Jupiter casts a positive glance through New England, especially around Boston and Portland, with Venus loudest through (mostly) the Appalachian areas, especially touching Charlotte and Jacksonville. Los Angeles receives a Saturn line.
Western South America fares better than in the east: Mars sets through Brasilia and Porto Alegre. Europe has a surprisingly positive Jupiter line running from Stockholm to Puglia: Perhaps this involves NATO memberships and other alliances and diplomacy. Pyongyang has a bellicose Sun-Mars convergence. The convergence of Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan has a Mars-Saturn crossing: unusual violence may be expected. Beijing receives one of the Pluto lines that suggests significant uprooting and restructuring in this quarter.
MEDIUM-TERM (The Bridge)
ALL MONTH: Pluto sq. Capsolar Asc, Neptune sq. Capsolar Moon, continuing the NEPTUNE-PLUTO ZONE. Collective (massing) populist voices rise due to a sense of pervasive anxiety, of "never knowing when the other shoe will drop." Waves of heightened emotional reaction, fervor, and herd-mind arousal are accompanied by confusion, uncertainty, and an undermined sense of security. This could be a reflection of the election cycle or the passionate civil unrest forecast from the Capsolar for the year.
JULY 13-18: Mars crosses Capsolar Westpoint. This PLUTO-NEPTUNE-MARS ZONE adds a threatening sense of alarm or emergency with the usual expectations of increased fires, deadly accidents or weather events, human violence, and other harm. JULY 16 is the most threatening day: Transiting Mars moves into 1° of aspect to progressed Cansolar Moon that about a day before the old Cansolar ceases to exist at 11:41 AM EDT on July 17.
Neptune returns to Aquarius August 6 and remains the rest of the year (until March 14, 2023). Mars remains in Aries all month. Summaries of longer-term trends from outer planet sign transits are here.
SHORT-TERM (Lunar Ingresses)
Caplunar (Jul 13)
Effective July 13 to August 10, especially the first week, July 13-20. Sun and Mercury tightly straddle Descendant in close conjunction, their midpoint 0°06' from the angle. Based on history, one most expects authoritative pronouncements such as a historically significant speech or written act by the president or other solar entity (which could include Congress acting on behalf of the nation as a whole). "The King's speech" is the most common expression of Sun-Mercury in mundane astrology.
That this has strong impact is suggested by the other three foreground planets, Moon, Uranus, and Pluto. Moon squares Uranus 0°37' on one side and Pluto 0°37' on the other (both mundane aspects). This puts Moon 0°00' from the Uranus-Pluto midpoint, with Uranus square Pluto only 1°15' wide. The high impact Uranus-Pluto mundane square is therefore the second aspect with a deafeningly loud voice in this ingress. Uranus-Pluto is revolutionary, revising, and remapping. It upsets the expected flow of things (and probably also upsets the most conventional in government), bringing new conditions unleashed from precedent, custom, or convention to make way for a new, future. Ebertin wrote of Mo = Ur/Pl that the energies are daring and audacious, perhaps bringing about change by force.
Houston has a Moon-Jupiter concentration that suggests it is likely either to be very, very prosperous or very, very wet.
Arilunar (Jul 20)
Effective Jul 20-27. In a time already marked by middle-term Pluto and Neptune influences, the Week chart also is dominated by Neptune and Pluto. (Also, this chart is almost exactly duplicated next week, so this is a two-week effect.)
Neptune is 0°01' from Midheaven. This is an incredibly powerful Neptune suggesting a week of lost clarity and lost direction. Angular Neptune always signals extreme excitement, whether happy or unhappy: the insanity either of a crowd or a mob. It's always confusing, often a little mad, and occasionally drives panic.
Meanwhile, Pluto has retrograded to within 3° of the 0° Rim Moons of these weekly ingresses and, this time, is 0°18' from opposite Sun. (Sun-Pluto is the main feature of the Capsolar.) Moon-Sun-Pluto surely will welcome unprecedented conditions and irrevocable shifts of circumstances and rebellion against prevailing conditions, with particular focus on assailing or somehow trying to "take down" those in power. Outright lawlessness is a feature of the week's main events. With Neptune and Pluto in shared, strong focus, we expect uncertainty arising from an increasingly malleable view of reality: This stirs a compelling desire in people for certainty, which in turn feeds a warring of worldviews.
Canlunar (Jul 27)
Effective Jul 27 to Aug 3. For all practical purposes, the chart is the same as last week's Arilunar. The same interpretation applies, except with less specific focus on central authority.
Saturn is angular exactly along the shared longitude of the New Mexico-Arizona and Colorado-Utah borders. In the center of Colorado-Utah meeting, Mars exactly sets. This Mars-Saturn intersection marks this as the most hurtful area in the nation for the week. Northern California gets plenty of sunshine, but the greater Midwest (sharing a Saturn line from Texas to Minnesota) likely suffers extreme (if not hurtful) adverse weather.
Liblunar (Aug 3)
Effective Aug 3-10. The month ends on an upbeat note. The Liblunar is the best chart of the month. Jupiter (which looks farther away in longitude) is only 0°22' from Ascendant.
We still have Moon-Pluto, which alerts us that we're back in a time of week-by-week intensity until we grow numb to it. We also have a touch of Neptune, with the Moon/Neptune midpoint 0°35' from the horizon. Moon-Neptune shows waves of heightened emotional fervor, herd-mind arousal, and at least a bit of madness. This time, though, it is for righteous causes or even in celebration: The exactly rising Jupiter promises that the essential nature of the week is positive.
One specific match to this symbolism: It aligns with occasions of great justice, or a setting right something that was grievously wrong. Other possibilities exist, of course. Jupiter speaks for victories, prosperity, and a greater sense of abundance, including opportunities for celebrating national pride. It likely means much more than a lot of rain in Washington. (Nonetheless, if there is a tropical storm approaching the U.S. east coast, it looks like it makes landfall in North Carolina and travels north across eastern Virginia into Pennsylvania.)
Los Angeles is the center or sunshine and pride this week. Confusion and disorientation intensify on a line from the Florida panhandle across Alabama, central Tennesse and Kentucky, through Indianapolis, and into Michigan. A "sudden attack" or explosive double Mars-Uranus line curves through Arizona (especially Phoenix) across Utah, Wyoming, and eastern Montana.
