There's a lot angular! Four transiting planets (plus Su) and five natal planets are foreground and Moon makes an important aspect with 14 important aspects (not counting the five natal aspects in the foreground). The year isn't simple.

Nothing is stronger than transiting Jupiter over 4° from an angle, so it's not like one thing stands out. In a sense, that means that the double Moon-Uranus is the strongest thing. There will be surprises and the need to adapt to quickly changing circumstances. (Just noticed that natal Sun might be considered stronger - same impression, though.) On balance, though, there are more, stronger benefics than malefics. Here is the angularity breakdown:

Steve, this is Dee's daughter, yes? Being sensitized to the possibility she has very difficult things to deal with in the next months, I'm surprised to find that this is an unusually positive SSR. I expect her to have one of the better years of her life.

• No Class 1 angularities gives us no reason to put it in the "outstanding return" category. It's a perfectly acceptable ordinary SSR with a lot to say, but none of the markers are present to make it a (positive or negative) "bowl her over" year (closer angularities, foreground Moon, high-impact Pluto, etc.).
• The indications are heavily weighted to the positive. This is a good year! Just look at the list of angularities above to get this, then throw in the two close Moon-Uranus aspects.
• Several areas stand out for success. It's a really good business year (look at the Sun and Jupiter angularities and the TWO Mercury-Jupiter aspects, for example). It's a great year for personal matters (there's a lot of "enjoying life" in the Venus-Mars-Jupiter mix, with a natal Venus-Mars mundane square being a stand-out aspect).
• The only negatives at all are Mars and Neptune transits to natal planets, However, these are all the least foreground planets. If we were to use only Class 2 foreground (which is wider than some Siderealists would go), that part would all disappear.

Here's how the SSR looks if we get a little more conservative with the orbs, cutting back to Class 2 angularity only. Take a look at this with fresh eyes: It's a really good SSR!

Yes Jim, it is one of the two daughters of Dee. You and I both immediately recognized it an “unusually positive SSR” under the possible death of her mother. She is much more prepared mentally to accept the possible death of her mother than her sis Laura. Also, Laura is facing another very problematic matter in life beside her mother’s possible death which really show-up well in Laura's SSR.

FWIW, I urge all interested members on this forum to get Jim to do one of his quick reads for their SSRs. He is most gifted in this area in a very Mercurial Learning Way, and it can help all of us with our learning curves reading SSRs.
