Jupiter in Aries

Post by Jim Eshelman »

Jupiter entered Aries this morning, joining Uranus in the last sign of the zodiac. I have done no analysis on this placement at all, so one thing we can do is watch what shifts in the news now occur. I'll also give the data everyone can use to look at this passage in history.

Here are periods Jupiter has been in Aries during U.S. history. (The new passage will be April 25, 2023 to May 4, 2024 without retrogradation into Pisces.)

Looking back at the last pass 12 years ago (May 12, 2011 to May 20, 2012), I see it was an unusually violent time - much more so than usual, but perhaps only the center of a larger time before and after. It was also a time when the earliest major extreme weather climate shifts were occurring that seemed to be Earth in rebellion, including volcanic eruptions, the terrible Joplin tornado, extreme flooding, and more, North Korea's leadership changed with Kim Jong-Il's death. Vladimir Putin was returned to the Russian presidency. (Was it a time of political strongmen?) OTOH Gaddafi was overthrown and killed.

Checking the time before that (May 30, 1999 to Jun 6, 2000), it seems overall a quieter time. The one fascinating coincidence is that, during that time, Russian President Boris Yeltzin resigned, leaving his Vice President in charge - which was Vladimir Putin. AOL purchased Time Warner and, four days later, the dot-com economic bubble peaked (as we can see in the rear-view mirror) starting the subsequent decline of that large segment of the economy after a 17-year raging bull market.
