Economical entertainment for us old people.

Post by SteveS »

FWIW: If any of you are like Gayle & Me and can’t find an entertaining movie to go see anymore, but still like entertaining movies, I may have a good solution for you and any possible mates. Learn the technology of Amazon’s Fire Stick (around 30 $) for your home TV set. It’s simple-just plug it into a HDMI port on your TV and plug the other cord into an electrical outlet. There is a learning curve to navigate your favorite apps but easily learned by watching a few youtube videos.

This new economical technology allows anyone to now access most all spectrums to entertainment.
For example: My wife & I simply love movies with a good story to em---don’t matter the actors/actress. We have been watching old Alfred Hitchcock movies which rent for 4 $, 2 $ each for a couple to share the cost. It’s a great for this old couple (Gayle/I) to spend time together in a relaxing fashion. Alfred was by far the greatest Movie Director of his time, he made/directed 53 movies in 50 years in his career. Clue: Look for the ones which have a 7.5 or higher IMDB rating. Alfred was a genius, wish we had his AA birthtime. He brought a fresh new, unique, innovated, original style to Hollywood which had a tremendous effect of slowly drawing his audiences deeper & deeper into the story behind the movie. He was a tremendous master with the film camera with some of the unique ways he would film the actors/actress with new unique angles that audiences had never seem, it had a tremendous entertaining effect with his audiences. So, stay in, and escape with your favorite old movies. You can take your I-phone and google Alfred Hitchcock Movies and it will bring-up all 53 of his movies, with IMDB rating, and a synopsis of the movie. Or you google to find out out the highest grossing movies for any given year which may help you in selecting an entertaining movie. The audiences usually knew good entertainment by the highest gross of a movie in a given year. Hope this may bring more relaxation into your life by escapeing into a good movie. :)

It's not just for old people, I grew up watching old TV shows like The Dick Van Dyke Show, Bewitched, Twilight Zone, I Love Lucy, and Alfred Hitchcock Mysteries.

Yeah, many modern movies are so obviously full of agenda (pushing the fostering of certain beliefs), that many are even hard to watch. To those that can read between the lines, it's obvious programming. To those who can't see it, programmed.

I'm really itching to start at #1 and go through the entire (original) Twilight Zone episodes. Here, in Germany, it doesn't appear to be so easy...but there has to be a way.

In the interests of further studies, here is Isaac Starkman's rectification for him.

I hear you Venus. One great think for us old people who love certain movies/series—they can go back and watch em again and discover they have forgotten how many of the scenes will play out :) , kinda like watching em for the first time. I love any kind of good quality entertainment---its relaxes me in many ways.

Thanks James, I will play around with Isaac's time for Alfred.
