Quick PSSR question for Janus 5

Post by randallnyc »

ARE the PSSR and SQ calculationa in Janus correct? I know PSSR in Solar Fire is calculated using RAMS.

PSSR in Solar Fire isn't a PSSR. It's something else unrelated (have never quite figured it out, maybe a Key Cycle). So forget SF's treatment of a PSSR.

As far as I know, J5 is accurate. I've never checked it but it seems right. As I recall, both SQ and PSSR in J5 have options for either RAMS or RAAS calculation. Personally, I'm 100% sure the SQ should be Mean rate and, as far as I can tell, thr PSSR (hard to find good working examples) is also Mean rate.

What little work I have done with the PSSR in Janus is accurate, because I asked Jim a couple of times to calculate (by his method) the same PSSR, and it matched Janus. When it comes to the astronomy of things astrologically, I trust Jim explicitly. :)
