Handbook of Sidereal Natal Interpretations

Post by Jim Eshelman »

From Lulu: https://www.lulu.com/shop/james-a-eshel ... +astrology
From Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Handbook-Siderea ... 304684121/

Handbook of Sidereal Natal Interpretations contains interpretations of planets, angularities, signs, and aspects (planet combinations) used in Sidereal natal astrology, plus synastry combinations for the astrology of interpersonal relationships.

All these interpretations are equally valuable to astrologers using the Tropical zodiac (except for the signs). All Western astrologers see planets, their angularity, and aspect meanings similarly.

About the Author
James A. Eshelman, an astrological writer and teacher for over 50 years, is a leading living voice on Sidereal Astrology. His best-known astrology books include

Interpreting Solar Returns
Visions & Voices
Sidereal Mundane Astrology
Sun & Moon in the Sidereal Constellations.

Since 2007 he has operated Solunars.com, a web forum and online community dedicated to the study and growth of Sidereal Astrology.

Mr. Eshelman is a past president of the International Society for Astrological Research (ISAR). He edited the journals The Constellations for the Registry of Sideral Astrologers (ROSA) in the 1970s and Black Pearl for College of Thelema 1997-2002. In the larger occult community, he is best known as Chancellor of College of Thele-ma and Prolocutor General of Temple of Thelema since 2004.

He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, actress and astrologer Marion DeSio.

Yes, very businesslike.
Any impressions?
Yes, I have thumbed through it and really like the layout of the book, but this has always been the case with me with your books. Two Virgo’s. :)
Very impressed with cover jacket and last jacket page where you write:
Astrology’s purpose is to give insight into ourselves and others, especially self-knowledge and self-understanding. This book gives the most important pieces of the puzzle of yourself. (You then get to finish the puzzle!)
Your last paragraph here Jim are well chosen words---so true—raised a smile on my face. :)

At the bottom of the ordering page is a link to rate and review.

Reviews and starting to get ratings probably would help the cause along. :)

My copy just arrived at 10:14, the same time I submitted my Venus meditation on! What a beautiful surprise, my mail doesnt normally arive till much later, and my copy wasnt due to arrive till the 1st!

Wow, wow and wow!!
Lulu did a fantastic job. I'm impressed with the quality of the book at such a reasonable price!! Great layout and presentation, love the fonts and stylings and room for legitimate notes!! You look dashing, that's a great photo of you.

I will most definitely leave a review and not sound like a bot either. I wrote a few reviews on google last year and was accused of not being a real person.

Yesterday I quoted Jim’s words below when I received his new book.
Astrology’s purpose is to give insight into ourselves and others, especially self-knowledge and self-understanding. This book gives the most important pieces of the puzzle of yourself. (You then get to finish the puzzle!)
I want to elaborate some more on Jim’s above words which is a concise statement of so much truth for every individual on this planet with their birth certificate with a documented birth time. The main reason I started studying astrology back in the late 70s, is I wanted some kind of tool to explain the WHYs (“the puzzle”) for psychology things that I was constantly encountering in my life, some pleasant, some not so pleasant. I wanted to understand the loops of my life :) . Before I started studying astrology, I read the phrase “Know Thyself” –it was a key for life. When I started to put the “pieces” of my life together with the study of my Natal Chart; for the first time in my life the “pieces of the puzzle” for my life started to come together as a completed life picture of the heavens I was born under. Studying my Natal Chart is the greatest adventure I have ever undertaken in my life, and Jim’s new book is a masterpiece for studying your Natal chart. This allows you to merge with something much more important/bigger than we realize, it allows a sense of 'awe' to become your companion. I encourage all readers on this forum to acquire Jim’s new book if you truly want to begin an adventure of a lifetime. Plus, you have the added bonus of being able to ask Jim any questions about his new book for yourself, and at the same time acquire your Natal Chart :) , for free as long as Jim has the time to answer your questions.

Thanks :) Very good to hear this positive feedback about the delivery.

Was it shipped from the U.S.? I was wondering if maybe they had a European production site (which, of course, would avoid import duties and reduce shipping costs and timing).

Shipment arrived via Asendia.
From Lulu in Durham NC
What’s interesting is that the countries were typed in french.
Etats-Unis and Pays-Bas.

I really like the lay-out of your book Jim.
The letters are a nice size and it fits so well on the pages.
In my opinion this is a must have no.1 for anyone who has an interest in Sidereal astrology.

Thank you for noticing that. I'm actually almost as proud of the layout as I am of the content. I had a particular vision of how the inter pages should look. I'm sure the side-by-side Sun and Moon sign pages will make studying the signs and the Sun-Moon contrast easier than it's ever been. (I think no astrology book has ever done that.)

Thanks. Unfortunately shipping costs are up all over.

As for speed, remember they are printing these as they're ordered so I mentally figure about three days to get an object they can ship. I was pleased with the quality, though, it seems much more solid than a usual perfect-bound book. (I was concerned with the spine cracking and that's probably not going to happen quickly.)

I hope you enjoy it.

Jim, I have gone to your link you provided to write a review and it want let me write one. I have followed all of their instructions but still can't get to the proper page to write a review. I though maybe you could test writing a review and see how it works for you since I could be overlooking a step.

My guess is that you have to sign in with the same email account you used to create your account when you ordered.

Steve, if the review system doesn't work for you, please don't stress it. Your review would be appreciated AND there is no reason to force it. - I suspect, though, that it matters whether you are logged into your account (upper right corner) when you try to post it. If you want to give the exact error message you get, we can perhaps reach out to Lulu about this.

Jim, it worked today and I think I did the same as yesterday. If it didn't work today--I was not goin to stress about it. :) But, I am glad i was able to post the review today. Their space did not allow me to post my entire review but I got most of it posted. Anyway, a great book, you are an exceptional astrological writer/teacher.

I have just ordered my copy from Amazon and it's arriving Thursday!

Is this the only book on Sidereal astrology I'll ever need? Or should I at least have one book by one of the pioneers of Sidereal astrology like Cyril Fagan?

Probably not the only one you'll ever need. For example, it provides interpretation material but very little on how to use it.

You likely will want some of the Sidereal classics as a foundation - by Fagan, Bradley, Gleadow, etc.

Thanks for the purchase. I hope you enjoy it.

I thought so. Fagans Zodiacs Old and New will make a welcome addition to my modest library. I've been reading your correspondence with Brigadier R.C. Firebrace with interest. The journal he was editor of called Spica must be very collectable.

That's disturbing. Someone must have cut and pasted instead of copying.

I'm recopying the individual issues and the one "all of them" file to the right folder again, then they'll have to sync up to the cloud. Try again in a few hours or tomorrow.
