Configurable displayed data points

With the addition of meridian longitude, we now have columns that stick out past the displayed chart. That's not necessarily an issue in and of itself, but it made me wonder - what if users could select which fields they want to see from a set of all potential fields? This gives us the option to add lots of optional data points without sacrificing readability or anything else. (It would also give me the opportunity to add in a column I wish TM had, raw angularity orb in degrees and minutes, without sacrificing anything or imposing it on anyone else.)

Something that might (or might not) be especially useful in this is displaying multiple angularity strength values next to each other for easy comparison.

Whatcha think? Maybe a separate screen that branches off from Chart Options?

The only part of this that's annoying is that you have to manually recalculate charts whenever you change settings.

Which also makes me think... what if there was an option to automatically recalculate every chart when Show Chart is pressed? It won't add any appreciable delay to opening the chart, and it means any option changes would always be applied. And, of course, you can just leave it turned off.

Sometimes you want to display a chart the way you originally calculated it. For instance, any charts I calculate in TM that are in my Example Chart Catalogue for the book I calculate with an options list called Natal_CSA so they always appear the way they should for the book.

I have no objections to the selectable columns. I do lean toward any new feature expansions waiting until after 1.0 - part of 1.x series. (BTW I'm, fascinated you want the orb in degrees since it's visible at a glance. I look at 357°05' and see 2°55' in my head.)

For prime vertical conjunctions with primary angles, it's almost that simple for me; I still have to sit and think about, for example, which of 4°09' and 355°45' has a closer orb.
For ecliptical or RA squares, it requires even more math. I just use a calculator for RA squares, only doing it in my head if it's really, really obvious. Plus, if I share these orbs with someone else and type it out for them, I'm usually doing it for a non-astrologer who I think should get shown degrees and minutes. It would be really convenient to copy and paste the orb as-is, especially if PVL, longitude, and RA orbs were all in the same column ready to go.

That makes sense - I remember that point being in the wishlist, although I didn't really think too hard about what it was accomplishing. I'll re-evaluate once I get to implementing that one.

I'll have to try sharing percentages with the not-quite-astrologer friend who I'm most often sharing charts with, and see what she thinks.
