Jim, this is defintely not where I am coming from ("daily transits") with the way I am looking at the major outer planet transits to Solar Arc factors for a major event (Life Development).
I know it's not. But I've already found the idea to fail miserably in major life events for myself and others I've checked. Yes, there is an occasional random hit well below even average expectation (and usually not that). So I have no reason to place any confidence in it as a timer of major events at all.
I either settle into "nothing here, go back to ignoring it" or I give it one last chance. The bottom line question seems simple: Are solar arc positions responsive to transits? If so, I'll give them a way to prove it.
I'm not optimistic.
The only daily non outer planet transits that I have seen which really arouse my curiosity in a WOW way is transiting Sun to Solar ARC Sun (progressed Sun) and a few with the inner transiting planets, but please understand---only for the few really big life events on the day they manifest
I see them all the time. Almost every day. Yesterday, transiting Sun and Mercury conjoined my natal Neptune: A birthday present Marion bought me that should have been here weeks ago finally showed up, a custom blended Bourbon. I had to go across town (to my office) to pick it up and had various transportation confusions along the way, but got home fine. After dinner, we then sampled the Bourbon, got half-snockered, and otherwise had a fun, indulgent evening. - It's as perfect a Mercury and Sun opposite natal Neptune as could be.
Today, transiting Mercury squared my SSR Pluto. Stress was a little high, feeling a bit confrontation, then was asked to investigate bizarre misbehavior in the network path of our Shanghai office (something I couldn't ordinarily do). Tomorrow, Mercury will square my Jupiter-Uranus and I expect things to be much brighter, and particularly good for getting the chapter on midpoints finished (I'm close). Monday was my work hire anniversary so they gave me a free day off that I enjoyed immensely (writing during the day and having a better than usual dinner): transiting Venus conjoined my SSR Moon. Tuesday was back to work after several days off, having to get up an hour and a half earlier and push hard through the day: transiting Sun squared my Mars, which usually means for me pushing too hard and feeling burned out. - And so on, day by day (most days).
For example here is the most benefic event in my entire life involving my Natal, Solar Arcs, and transits to the exact day of the main event... I fullfilled my dream of leagally becoming the owner of my own Theater.
t Sun partile cnj d Sun
t Ve partile cnj d Me partile cnj r Jup
t Ma partile 90 d EP/ED (long story on main event day)
t Mo partile 180 r Sat (long story on main event day)
t Ur partile 90 d Pl
The main "Life Developments":
d MC partile cnj r Nep
d Asc partile 90 r Ve
The directions of MC to natal Neptune and Ascendant to natal Venus are solid. We know solar arcs work, especially from personal points.
There are problems with some of the others, though, so let's whittle it down a bit: You can't use directed Sun in any of these tests because this is the same as progressed Sun - and we already have strong statistics that transits to progressed Sun and Moon are powerful. (Even if that's backwards and it was always SA Sun, it's too confusing to use it.)
You can't use t Mars square d EP-a. First, squares to EP-a are invalid. Second, you can't direct that angle - it's a fictitious point approximating where a Right Ascension conjunction would occur.
There is a very interesting one which is the scenario I brought up at the beginning: Directed Mercury conjoins natal Jupiter - great aspect, perfect for the event and only 7' wide. Then we get the confusing one: Transiting Venus conjoins the d Mercury and r Jupiter. I entirely accept t Venus conjunct natal Jupiter for the event. But there is no way to even assess whether t Venus to d Mercury is valid
because of the Mercury-Jupiter direction. Is this
really t Venus conjunct d Mercury? Or is it only that d Mercury and r Venus concurrently conjoined natal Jupiter? I think it's the latter, you think it's the former, and my main point is that we just can't tell - we have to leave this sort of "doubled up" hit out of the research because there is no logical way to assess it.
So there are three clear, descriptive directions, a Venus transit to your Jupiter, Sun conjunct your
progressed Sun, and several aspects we can't use for the assessment.
That leaves only t Uranus square d Pluto. (That is the
only transit to a solar arc planet that exists on its own in that long list of aspects.) I can see how this would fit - this was a big "this changes everything" event - but it's only one aspect. Worth noting, of course.
What has to happen IMHO is a one clear day main major event has to happen to trigger the sight of partile transits to solar arc factors which have been laying dormant.
If I'm understanding you correctly, you're saying that transits to solar arc planets are valid, but they are only valid for major events, not for ordinary events. Is that the rule to be tested?
This example does not have an outer planet transit to d angles but I have seen cases of this same type transits. Some cases d angular hits have no transits involved but when they do have partile transits it adds much richer symbolism.
BTW, I think you said that secondary progressions had never worked well for you. For this most benefic day of your life, your progressed Venus was 27°26' Libra, 28' from conjunct your Ascendant. Progressed Saturn, though had reached the same place - I'm not sure what that means and, while you seem to be describing a once-in-a-lifetime Venus event I do not think you are describing a Venus-Saturn event. So I'm not sure that's a good hit. Here are the progressions:
27°27' Lib - p Venus
27°34' Can - p Saturn
27°55' Lib - r Asc
But where the progressions really did come through is the stunning occurrence of your SNQ MC for Springville at 29°52' Libra conjunct natal Jupiter within minutes - with transiting Venus conjunct it:
29°42' Lib - r Jupiter
29°52' Lib - p MC
0°05' Sco - t Venus
It was the happy transit of the day!
