Horoscopes of countries?

I just had a sudden spark of curiosity.
Does a country's natal chart/horoscope (presumably the chart of its independence, etc.) tell anything about it? From Its angular planets, luminary signs, aspects and such?
Like does it tell about the nation's peoples'/leaders' common mentality, how the nation's people are taken cared of, innate problems that need to be solved the country, and conversely, the assets that the country has to achieve success? How the country behaves with other countries, and such?

The possibilities are a lot, if not endless. I remember Jim stating that SSR's and SLR's of nations do not work so well. I guess the same applies to transits?
Would a person's synastry to a country's chart tell about how (s)he thinks/reacts to or feels about the country? On a different perspective, would the synastry of two countries tell about how their relations are in general?

Sorry for the bucket-load of questions.

That's a very insightful way to ask the question. That seems to be exactly what the primary chart of a country shows - the character of its people, culture, etc.

Other charts may show special features, e.g., the adoption of a constitution as pertaining to its legal, structural side.

These, however, are controversial. There are multiple opinions of what's valid, and there may *as hinted above) be multiple valid charts for different expressions of a particular country. I still prefer the 1066 chart for Great Britain, but the formal establishment of the United Kingdom produced a chart that Firebrace found extremely effective for modern times. Also, some countries roll over so fast from revolution to coup to uprising that it's hard to keep track of a common thread, and one is tempted to dig for a deeper, more fundamental expression of a people,

Work by Llewellyn George and others, abundant work by Bradley, and my own follow-up for decades leaves about 0% doubt that the correct timing for the U.S. chart for July 4, 1776, Philadelphia, PA is 12:14:42 PM LMT. Many Siderealists also are fond of Helen Boyd's chart for the U.S. declaration of war on England, July 6, 1775, 11:00 AM, Philadelphia.

During the late 1940s, Bradley wrote quite extensively about the above 7/4/1776 chart's description of the U.S. land and character. I've reproduced some of those articles here in the Mundane Astrology section.

Prediction from these is more complicated, so perhaps their best purpose is to show the nation's character. But for big events, they tend to respond quite well. Firebrace wrote a book on England's natal chart plus Sidereal ingresses for predicting the beginning and end of 20th century wars. Bradley was ambivalent about solar and lunar returns for U.S. charts. I've found them highly responsive to transit and progression (at least the U.S. chart) and more often than not responsive to solar returns. I haven't been able to establish that lunar returns are as effective as they are for people, but you might want to take the data above and the lists of events in Sidereal Mundane Astrology and run, say, the U.S. SLRs before the deaths of U.S. presidents or other pivotal events. One does find things like Mars rising in the SLR before 9/11/2001, though not as closely as one might like.

Wow, thanks!

Hmm, yeah I can see where complications may come in, in finding the right chart, how to use it for predictive analysis and such.

Cool. 8-)
Might give it a go, but alas, for now I'd like to explore more about the natal/character/culture aspect of countries rather than the predictive/mundane aspects.

BTW 31st August (it's already a yesterday for me, but it's still a today for you) was my country's independence day. :D
Besides JSAD's birthday haha.
