Transiting Pluto opposing radix Jupiter

Post by [V] »

Solarfire detected a Pluto that will oppose my natal Jupiter on August 4th.

It gives the following description:
Transiting Pluto Opposition Radix Jupiter
During this time you will find it difficult to achieve your goals. It may be that you lack the confidence or energy needed to help you achieve your aims, or perhaps others will stand in your way. You should be wary of anyone appearing in the guise of guru or priest, particularly the established church. You would also be wise to avoid legal battles during this transit, as they could prove very difficult under the influence of this energy.
This sounds completely different than the summary posted in the outer planets transit thread:
PLUTO aspecting Natal JUPITER
Your career, finances, ethics, philosophy, and perhaps reputation are passing through major transformation and redefinition. A professional turning point is likely, such as promotion or a career shift. These are probably very positive changes, though both coronations and dethronements have occurred with this pattern. A separation occurring about now is the expected source of your gains (such as an inheritance, or advance brought about by leaving a previous position). In the end, you will likely find yourself "running your own show" more independently. Feeling less bound by other people's rules, you can develop a "Holier than thou" attitude that distances others; and legal struggles are possible. However, the general tone is likely one of success and enhanced power.
IN BRIEF: Redefinition of status, finances, ethics, reputation. Major shifts in career or life-direction. Being more in charge of one’s personal affairs. Possible alienation through superiority.
Why are these descriptions so different?

I don't recommend using any builtin SF interpretations. This is an example of their standard Tropical approach of treating all oppositions as bad.

Robert, that's a different subject than Pluto transiting Jupiter, and probably should have its own thread, but I'll give a quick answer.

First, we wouldn't expect much at all because only dynamic (hard) aspects usually produce much result in transits. We mostly don't use transiting trines at all. To the extent there is a result, it would at least be much milder than for a conjunction, opposition, or square, and might be entirely psychological.

Having aid that, the basic meaning of any Pluto transit to natal Saturn is: Breaking down old structures and outmoded patterns. Security may seem threatened as stable resources are challenged. Chance to restructure the basis of life more dynamically. Work-oriented, obstinate; benefits from play and social sharing.
