Aspects for "bad" mundane events

Post by Jim Eshelman »

What are the aspects most common for "bad" events? I have tabulated all the non-lunar foreground aspects in all relevant charts for the same set of "bad" events that were used for the "White Hats vs. Black Hats" tabulation in SMA. Here are the actual frequencies. Note that all aspects have an equal chance of appearing except Sun-Mercury, Sun-Venus, and Mercury-Venus; and the outermost aspects, though equal chance in the long run, are skewed b the time period of the charts used. Thus, Neptune-Pluto is perhaps unfairly weighted against, and Uranus-Pluto might be just a little higher because of its recent recurrence (although that is not, alone, responsible for the very high frequency of this aspect, which appears frequently for these events across the centuries).

Re: Aspects for "bad" mundane events

To get a somewhat statistically "cleaner" look, drop out the three inmost of these aspects - those among Sun, Mercury, and Venus - and the three outermost - those between Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto - and everything else should be statistically even, more or less. This leaves us with the six most common aspects being:

64 - Mars-Saturn
51 - Venus-Pluto
44 - Mars-Neptune
41 - Sun-Saturn, Saturn-Pluto
38 - Mars-Uranus

The six least common are:

23 - Jupiter-Pluto, Saturn-Uranus
22 - Mercury-Jupiter
19 - Venus-Jupiter, Venus-Neptune, Jupiter-Uranus

One fabulous punch line is that, literally, a blend of Mars and Saturn is at the very top, and a blend of Venus-Jupiter is at the very bottom. Close Mars-Saturn aspects occur in the foreground of mundane charts for disasters more than three times as often as Venus-Jupiter. This finding alone is of considerable importance given the simplicity of its message.

I want to look at these data in different ways. In the moment, I want too - for each planet - which of its aspects is most and least present. I exclude the middle range, and focus only on those aspects that are most common and least common in the entire set.

The results of this sort are quite interesting. For these generally tragic events, Sun is often with Saturn, not often with Venus. Mercury is least often with Venus and Jupiter. Venus is common with Pluto (one of the most common aspects of the entire set) and least often with Jupiter, Sun, and Mercury (and Neptune for unclear reasons). Mars is most often with Saturn and Neptune, harsh and gruesome aspects. Jupiter has no common aspects (and two of its most common are with Saturn and Neptune), and is least often with Venus, Uranus, and Mercury. Saturn is most often with Mars, Sun, and Pluto (and, in a reversal of Jupiter, has no extremely infrequent aspects at all). Uranus is least often with Jupiter, and Neptune most often with Mars. - It is pretty close to a "fantasy list" of how we would hope it would turn out.
