Hawaii's deadliest natural disaster was the tsunami from the 1946 Aleutian Island earthquake. In the islands, it is called the April's Fool Day Tsunami.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1946_Aleu ... earthquake
The 8.6M quake was April 1, 1946, 12:29:01 UT, 53N29'31'', 162W49'55''. A Pacific-wide tsunami resulted. It reached Kauai, HI 4.5 hours after the quake (thus approx. 17:00 UT = 6:30 HST). Waves were as high as 130 feet. 159 people died in Hawaii. [I'm using Kilauea, on the north shore of Kauai. Pretty much any place on the island would do.]
The tsunami hit Hawaii as a Venus-Jupiter opposition, mundane square Saturn, crossed the angles, with Mars nearby and a tide-intensifying New Moon.
NOTE: Hilo, HI had the most casualties. However, Kauai is the "first landfall" equivalent, and shows the event dramatically. The wave hit Hilo 4.9 hours after the quake, which would be about 17:24 UT (6:54 AM HST). Kilauea is 22N13 159W24; Hilo is 19N44 155W05.

Re: 1946 Aleutian Island earthquake tsunami [Tsunami]
That was for the tsunami. Let's do the same for the earthquake itself (at the Aleutians location).
Magnitude 8.6. April 1, 1946, 12:29:01 UT, 53N29.4, 162W55.8. Casualties included 5 lighthouse keepers on Unimak Island (Alaska) and 173 in Hawaii (in Hilo), with 163 other injuries. $26 million in damages (= $363 million in 2019). The consequences in Alaska, though, were quite small, so I think this is only a serious event for Hawaii (as a tsunami), not for Alaska (as a quake).
