J.D. Vance

Post by Jim Eshelman »

Sen. J.D. Vance, author of Hillbilly Ellegy and the new Republican nominee for vice president, was born August 2, 1984, 8:11 AM EDT, Middletown, OH according to his official birth record.

His Ascendant is nearly the same degree as Donald Trump's!

Astrologer Steve Stuckey wrote me:
...the time was given to me by Hamilton City, OH vital statistics - over the phone. See link below. Ohio is an open state and so birth certificates can be gotten by non-family members. I obtained Vivek Ramaswany's certificate, who was born in Cincinnati, in a similar way. Check his chart on Astrodatabank. When I ordered Ramaswamy's bc, I did so through Vitalchek, but the cert did not have a time of birth on it - something that is mentioned in the Astrodatabank link to that explains the rules for different States. I placed a call to Ohio vital statistics and told them I needed the time, which they gave me over the phone, since they already had a record of the purchase of the cert.

So prior to ordering J.D's cert, I decided to call ahead and see if there was even a recorded time on the cert, something that Ohio State officials had previously told me doesn't always happen. I was only placing the call to see if the time was on the cert and didn't expect to get the time read to me over the phone, but the clerk there was very friendly and just gave it to me. (I had transiting Moon on my natal Venus 🙂)

I haven't ordered the cert yet, as this order supposedly can't be placed on the phone and has to be done online and can't be done through Vitalchek, as a cert with the time on it has to be requested and Vitalchek doesn't allow for that. I intend to do that soon and so this can't be turned over to Astrodatabank until I have the certificate in hand. Allow a couple week for this, but by that time someone else will probably have posted this on ADB.

The story gets more complicated, as I had to spend about two hours researching this on Ancestry before I attempted to order. There is no James Donald Bowman (his original birth name from his father, Donald Ray Bowman) in the Ohio Birth Registry - so no cert with his name on it. I found out after a lot of work, that this is because he was adopted by his stepfather, his mother's third husband, Robert Eugene Hamel.

The birth cert is there with his mother's name on it and Robert Hamel, and the legal name he used to use, James David Hamel. When an adoption takes place there is supposed to be a new cert generated with the new adoptive parents and the old original bc is sealed under court order. This is what happened with Steve Jobs when he was adopted - I had researched this years ago.

The time and other details of birth are supposed to be transferred to the new cert, but in reality I didn't think we had a chance of getting this time, but it is on the cert as read to me over the phone. https://www.hamilton-oh.gov/health

The first thing I noticed in Vance's chart is Mars mere minutes from IC - the angular Mars profile matching Trump and his temperament exactly. But then I noticed his Ascendant is 2° earlier than Trump's, surely a sign of sympatico.

Vance is well known for his autobiography, Hillbilly Ellegy. As a reflection of his difficult, impoverished upbringing and the strong mother and mother-figure influences, he has a background Cancer Sun 20' from square Saturn.

Here's an interesting detail, though: His Ascendant matching trumps' also means that Trump's Mars exactly conjoins Vance's Asc, in probably partile paran to Vance's own Mars.

Additionally, trump's Pluto is on Vance's Sun-Saturn. The one really good interchange is Trump's Jupiter on Vance's Moon. Mostly, they have a very challenged synastry.

This also means, though, that the inauguration will be almost exactly at Vance's SLR. I'll check that for obvious indications.

Before we had a time, I noticed that Vance is approximately at a progressed Moon-Jupiter conjunction. I wondered if it might it now, to indicate his elevation by nomination, or give him advantage near election day or inauguration day. It turns out none of these hits: the aspect has yet to come into orb, will spend its two months in orb during the campaign season, and then leave orb before election day.

It is likely J.D. Vance will be sworn into office January 20, given the extreme prominence of TWO Jupiters; but, as with almost every player on either side of the ballot, there is grief attached to the event. One wonders, therefore, whether he will be sworn in as vice president or president.

For Washington - specifically, the Capitol Building - a new SLR occurs 2:59 PM EST January 20, well within the window within which SLRs begin to be felt. Here is the chart:

t Venus on MC -7°20'
t Saturn on MC -7°01'

r Jupiter on Dsc -1°19'
-----------------------------
t Jupiter on EP +0°09'
r Neptune on Dsc +2°14'
r Uranus on EP 1°35'
r Mercury on IC +5°48

t Venus-Saturn co 0°19' M
t Jupiter op r Uranus 1°23' M
r Mercury-Uranus sq 2°07'
r Jupiter-Neptune co 3°33' M

Though middleground, there is a partile Sun-Pluto square that also is square his natal Pluto.

If PVP aspects also are valid in SLRs, he will have the following:
t Uranus sq r Neptune 0°13' p
t Uranus sq r Jupiter 1°18' p

NOTE: His prior Demi-SLR occurs just after midnight January 7, a few hours after the Electoral College ballots will be opened and tallied before a joint session of Congress. As a sitting Senator, he surely will be there regardless of the outcome. The strongest angularity is transiting Sun on IC square natal Moon.

But here is a strangeness: Following a pattern almost unbroken in the history of the U.S. presidency, we would not expect Vance (under any conditions) to succeed either Biden or Trump. Vance is a Cancer-Virgo. We expect that anyone who comes after either Biden or Trump has to have a luminary in Taurus-Scorpio or Libra-Aries.

So far it does look like Trump (and Trump-Vance) win the election and, given Trump's age, we'd expect that sometime or other Vance would succeed him; but the historic astrological pattern suggests that won't happen.

Admittedly, though, of the very few exceptions they have tended to be with vice presidents who inherit the presidency, with Harry Truman being the star example. Even then, though, there was a kind of polarity: He followed Cancer and Capricorn presidents with Aries-Libra luminaries.
