We know that Julian Assange was born July 3, 1971 in Townsville, Australia. There is some dispute over the birthtime, though it normally draws a B Rodden-rating.

In a biography, Assange wrote that his mother gave birth to him about 3 PM.

There are claims of birth records showing a blurred time that could be 2:05, 2:06, or 2:08 PM. There is then controversy over the likely authenticity of that record. You can read about the whole thing on Astro-Databank, but that's the gist.

The 3 PM chart (shown below) does host some extreme angularity, that seems quite descriptive of him and his mission and history. The 2:05 PM chart is kinda boring (which doesn't mean it's wrong).

What I noticed first is that the 3 PM chart puts a Uranus line through Ecuador. Shall we read that country as his liberator, his shot at freedom under present conditions? No such pattern exists for about an hour earlier.

The current Neptune transiting square to his natal Saturn-Neptune (and, possibly, his Ascendant) shows the kind of "fall from grace" he's been experiencing (see Bradley on Saturn-Neptune in S&LR for a clear statement).

But for the 3 PM time he also had progressed Sun exactly (2') crossing his natal Midheaven right now. We would expect some significant fame focussed on this period of time (which could include notoriety). For that birthtime, it also means that progressefd Sun is in strong, active paran with natal Saturn. Progressed Ascendant squares progressed Uranus (having squared natal Uranus about a year ago) - the timelines are all pretty close on expected results.

One good test: Progressed Moon for the 3 PM chart will square natal Mars in about three months (November). Along the way, it will square progressed Sun and natal Midheaven in just over a month. So we should expect some dramatic surge in publicity and celebrity status by late September, and some serious conflictual confrontation in November if this chart is right.

So, for the moment, I'm tentatively going with the 3 PM time.
