The last few months, my mother has been suffering from a lot of neurological symptoms like tingling, numbness, cramping, and the inability to move her left leg diagonally. Well, what a coincidence that as soon as I've been working on an orthopedic/neurosurgical floor with a doctor that did my pituitary surgery and is known for botching people, especially on their spines....my mother is diagnosed with spinal stenosis...and the only real treatment is spinal surgery

And here I am without a job at a sausage factory with a handsome man.

Anyway, her 2024 SSR is a malefic doosie. I just thought it might be social, but nope. Neptune is on the DSC receiving a minor octile from SSR sun.. And almost partile background square between Moon/Mars with a partile octile between Moon/Saturn and another one with Mars/Saturn. Thank God Venus is not involved, or diabetes would have been in the mix. Anywhoo, Neptune is obvious for degenerative diseases and Saturn just went partile Stationary square to her Natal Saturn possibly highlighting the lessons of age. With this high degree of synchronicity, I feel like God is hiding behind a bush somewhere waiting to record my reaction.

Aw, I'm so sorry to hear this. She was born with a tendency to this kind of physical (especially skeletal) hardship with a close Capricorn Sun-Moon conjunction aspecting all three malefics (ecliptical close sextile to Saturn, then mundane squares to the Mars-Neptune opposition).

There's a piece of good news, though. Here's her next solar return:

16v13' Tau - t Jupiter (1°11' after Asc)
17°10' Sco - SSR Ascendant
17°59' Sco - r Saturn (0°09' before Asc)

Putting it crudely, Jupiter' transit to natal Saturn - common for "easing one's ills" in various ways - is especially good for bones. It looks promising for recovery. - The return also has a 0°19' Moon opposite natal Pluto, so expect some sort of turning point.

The current solar is indeed rough. The main point is transiting Neptune setting and a 0°28' Moon-Mars mundane square. If PVP aspects are valid in return charts (we still don't know for sure), there is a 0°03' PVP square of transiting Neptune to natal Sun (actually Neptune to natal Sun-Uranus, all within 0°03'). The whole thing is pretty debilitating.

The next couple of months will be weird - simplest way to say it - and, unfortunately, unpleasant for her. Progressed Moon (currently 6°29' Cancer) will be moving through progressed Uranus and Neptune, and natal Mars and Neptune. This is the year of her progressed Mars-Saturn opposition, currently applying by 0°21'. Watch out for infections, bad reactions from medicine (or even some foods), etc. (Her progressed chart is just a few days later in time than Mike Nelson's birthday btw.) The new SSR should help but I expect pain and disability to be most pronounced until progressed Moon clears that zone.

My mother and I visited the orthopedic surgeon today. Turns out, she doesn't need surgery. Her spinal canal was small and narrow to begin with, so further narrowing hasn't affected the spinal nerves. She does need to have extensive knee work done, but she has to loose a lot of weight first. She also has significant demineralization along her spine.

And, in terms of natal potential, she has the afflicted Capricorn luminaries. All three malefics aspect her Sun-Moon conjunction in Capricorn (Saturn a soft ecliptical aspect, Mars-Neptune hard mundane aspects). The strongest impact is Neptune, which I find really interesting since these afflictions are to bones what atrophy is to muscles. This is erosion, leaching, etc. rather than breakage or blockage.
