39 members of the Heaven's Gate cult committed suicide together March 1997, in Rancho Santa Fe, CA near San Diego. They believed they were shedding a mortal coil so that, at a higher level of being, they could board a spaceship trailing Comet Hale-Bopp which had just passed by Earth.

The bodies were found March 26, already starting to decompose, The group leader had taped a message about the suicides March 19-20 (Hale-Bopp's closest pass was at the vernal equinox, March 20). They had taken drugs and the wrapped plastic bags over their heads to bring about death. The deaths are believed to have occurred in three batches over three consecutive days (March 24-26).

For sake of study, I'll use 0:00 March 25 (bridging the first few days, and probably within a few hours of the first wave of suicides). From a mundane astrology perspective, one might argue that the morning of March 26 is the most important time, since that's when the media began moving the information into mass mind.

For the science fiction / space-flight themes of the cult, the strength of Uranus in both the Year and Month master charts is (as Spock would say) fascinating.

Historians disagree on whether reports of the Siege of Masada (31N18'56" 35E21'13") are historically true. However, here is what is reported:

Romans breached the city's walls April 16, 73 CE. They found most of the buildings on fire and all the people dead. The legend is that they committed mass suicide the night before.

I will use April 15, 73, 9 PM for the working time of a possible mass suicide. The event is quite persuasive.

About 1,000 residents of Demmin, Germany committed mass suicide May 1, 1945 (in the aftermath of Hitler's suicide, and as Germany fell in WW II) after the Red Army sacked the town. I have no time for this event, so noon would be a reasonable estimate.

Charts for this event are likely complicated by overlapping with the larger picture of what was happening in Germany at the time, but I'll look at it as an isolated event for Demmin.

The charts start off well (the Caplunar is exquisite), and then deteriorate in the end. This is a fine example of charts for the end of WW II, but that's not really the event focused on Demmim,

Conclusion so far: These are kinda weird and kinda interesting.

Their biggest contrast to the mass shootings is that Venus and Jupiter are high here, and Mars and Saturn are low - the exact opposite. (But Moon-Mars aspects do pretty well.)

I'm still not convinced these are sufficient, or sufficiently congruent, events. I find them interesting, though.
